Finding a new job
So, basically being forced to go on mat leave early due to permanent work restrictions at my job. But only 21 weeks atm, and as far as I know EI payments won't start until 28 weeks at the earliest.
So my question is, does anyone have any tips to find part time employment until then? Or even until I can give birth in September?
Are you being laid off? If so, apply for regular EI before mat leave benefits. I’m not an HR person, but if you’re being forced to go on mat leave early and you don’t have a job to come back to, that might be an illegal practice.
