small baby

Hey everyone, my baby is measuring small - at my 29 week scan he was on the line on the 10th percentile and then when i went for my 33 week scan he was below on the 5th percentile i had a consultant appointment today, i have another growth scan booked in for one week today, my consultant said that if baby goes to 3rd percentile he will be born between 35 and 36 weeks , if he is between the 10th percentile and 3rd percentile lines he will be born at 37 weeks and if he grows to between 50th and 10th percentile lines he will be born at 39 weeks all via c section. what’s everyone’s experience with this? i am excited to meet me baby and feel as though if he needs to come out then he needs to and i’m okay with that. just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced the same? or any babies have been born early due to this? thanks!

I think it’s more to do with if baby keeps dropping or manages to stay consistent, my baby is on the 3rd centile but as she’s been consistently there for 2 weeks, they’re happy to just monitor weekly (I’d personally rather her here so I can relax more as her being inside me feels very out of control as I can’t gauge if she’s okay) but they did mention the only thing they take off the cards when a baby is on the 3rd is going over 40 weeks xx

I’m 35 +2 and last week at my latest growth scan my baby measured just under the 50th and yesterday the consultant told me it’s her tummy that isn’t growing at the same rate as everything else then next week at the growth scan we will be taking about induction as won’t want me to go full term. I would say from everything I’ve learnt at hypnobirthing in how to deal with these situations is… always ask for facts and figures, ask them why C-Section and what happens if you want to go with induction / natural birth. Just so you know you understand everything and know what your options are, because you will have options

Hello! Following as I've not heard this before, I was referred to fetal medicine as my babys measurements came up small - 3rd percentile, they didn't say anything about her being born earlier though! I'm now 35 + 3 days, not quite ready for her to be born next week! Apparently she is on the same projectile weight wise or maybe even slightly smaller as my other daughter who was born at 38 weeks.

Following this too😣I'm 35w3d and waiting for next scan next week which we may discuss early induction labour at 37week..I never heard C-section just because of small size, so getting a bit worried😥🤣

@Kyoko don’t panic! my c section is elective! no one is making me have one love. please don’t worry they won’t suggest a c section unless they absolutely need to and there is no other option!😊

I’m going through the same. Baby is between 3rd and 10th so they want to do an induction at 37 weeks. If the baby drops at my next growth scan (next week), they want to do the induction sooner - between 36 and 37 weeks. I’m 34 weeks now and only starting antenatal classes today!

My first baby was born early at 34 weeks and she was on the 3rd. She was 4lbs bless her but she was absolutely fine! I had a c section in the end and it was very peaceful, the recovery was easier than I thought. There’s still plenty of time for them to grow and I’m currently pregnant with my second tiny baby. You will be ok ❤️
