Bags at hospital

For those that have had your babies, how many bags did you take in with you? I have cabin suitcase, a little duffel bag, a snack bag and handbag? Is that too much? I’ve also packed bottles with teats in case, is that something I need to take in with me straight away? I just feel like I’m moving in at this rate but I literally can’t bring the bags down any more than I already have!

I had a small suitcase for myself, a changing bag with baby’s stuff in, and a bag for life with snacks etc. Not sure about bottles as I’m breastfeeding so didn’t take any

I currently have 2 bags. One for snacks and drinks 😅🙈

I feel like I’ve taken my whole house tbh… I’ve got a baby bag, my bag, a bag for my partners and a snack bag x

I have a small suitcase for my baby, a duffle bag for me, and my partner will have a bag (as he can stay over at the birth centre) but he will mainly pack snacks etc 🤣

I’m basically packing my life 😭😂🤣🤣 but I put down things I know i used and needed the first time round, my second baby is due soon this month and I’m all prepared 🥰

I’m bringing my suitcase, baby bag, backpack, and a snack bag, bruising pillow, sleeping bag and pillows 🤣🤣🤣. They are going to hate us lol 🫣

Thanks so much ladies ❤️ this has helped so much!

That sounds quite a lot! I had one duffel bag and I ended up being in for 4 days. You don’t need a handbag.

What they have suggested is, to keep everything in the car and bring things out when you need them. So I’m repacking the baby bag to have essentials only. Then gradually get more bits.

My bag is fully packed in the car, I haven’t ticked everything off my list on my notes yet, when I’m in labour ready to goto hospital I’ll just need my colostrum and a sterile dummy to add :)

I have 1 big bag and 1 small bag my other half thought I was over packing with the 2 bags now I feel like iv hardly got anything compared lol but I figured if I need anything else after getting to the hospital I'll just send my other half back to pick up any extra bits if need be lol but will say it'll end up being 3 bags as I still need to do a snack and drinks bag and grab a pillow to take too lol but I thought I'd just do those bits on the day lol x

Oh and I'll need to pop my colostrum in a cold bag too lol x

@Tilly any tips? I haven’t got any out yet 😔

@Bea warm bath and then massage around ur boobs foe a bit and then slowly making a c shape with your hand keeping the bottom in the same place gently push ur thumb towards your nipple from behind ur Ariola and just keep at it and don't worry to much if you don't get anything out it doesn't mean you can't Breastfeed lost of mum's don't get anything out at all but still are fine when Breastfeeding and even just getting a couple drops out is perfectly normal the more you keep at it the more will come if any x

@Tilly got my c section on Tuesday so panicky I don’t have any. Going to try tomorrow. Do you stay in the bath to collect it or? Just wish I could relax get so nervous :(

@Bea

Hey, I had a large suitcase plus my partner had a rucksack and a shopping bag full of snacks. In hindsight we could have packed a bit lighter. We ended up moving from room to room quite a few times during the whole hospital stay and it was quite a lot of stuff for my partner to have to lug around the entire time, especially when things were happening quickly. So I would just bear that in mind and make sure your birth partner is confident in being responsible for all the stuff when you are in the labour zone and can't think! Good luck <3
