Allergic reaction to ear piercing

I had my daughter ears pierced on 5/14/2025. She cried on the initial piercing but quickly settled down after I cuddled her. Today I noticed small bumps behind her ear and on her sideburns area. She doesn't appear to be in any pain with the piercing, isn't bothered if it's touched and doesn't tug at it. The salon gave me a spray to aid with healing, which I was told to spray both on the back and front of her ear. I am thinking she is breaking out due to the spray. The earrings are gold platted. Please let me know what you think. TIAB

Is it saline spray?

@Kate it doesn't say

I see. From experience I know alot of these sprays can be very drying. I would maybe put Vaseline om the skin around the ear before spraying just as a barrier.

Try to use a dropper for cleansing, i use dropper whenever i clean my daughters new piercing and then use clean cloth at the back of the ears so it wont get onto her skin.

For the liquid cleaning, this is what im using. I didnt have any problem or skin irritation from this. Takenote as my daughter(5monold) have a very sensitive skin and have eczema.

@Mari @Kate . Thank you! Her rash got extremely worse. Had to take her to the emergency room, she's allergic to the spray. The piercing is fine. Doctor told me to just use alcohol. However, I won't be. I will use salt water mix or saline. Also the doctor told me to use benadryl... ridiculous

I was given a liquid to use after piercing but I think I did just twice as I forgot. Her ears are fine. Maybe she's allergic to the liquid

@Jessica oh no poor baby . I would just use warm water with salt in it on QTip to make sure it's only going around the piercing & not touching the skin around.
