Membrane sweep

I’ve had a membrane sweep done today (around 12:30) and the last 30 minutes or so I’ve had such crazy back ache it’s so painful it’s actually brought me to tears. Is this a sign the sweep could have potentially worked? My midwife said she managed to feel baby’s head a little bit he’s still really high up and cervix is only a little bit open but is softening up for labour. I left thinking it hadn’t of worked from what she was telling me but this pain that I’m getting is awful I’m honestly debating calling triage!
