Does anyone else take inositol for PCOS and are you continuing to take it throughout pregnancy?

Hi lovely! I took it prior to pregnancy. There’s not a whole lot on whether it’s safe to take or not bur generally the advice is to stop whilst pregnant. I have and it’s been alright so far. X

I stopped solely for laziness factor, but I know a few people who have continued!

I’ve continued it and now nearly 36 weeks x

I stopped taking it as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I’m now 26 weeks and worried that the symptoms I’m getting are due to not taking anymore (increased cravings for sugar and problems with recurrent yeast infections - sorry for TMI). I had an appointment at the antenatal clinic on Tuesday but it took talking to 3 people for them to decide to continue throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding not taking it. But I’m sure they’re saying that because unfortunately there isn’t enough awareness of inositol or PCOS/women’s health and they just don’t know how to advise because they don’t know what it is. Metformin is prescribed as off label but doesn’t work for me and does more harm than good. I wanted to take inositol again in the hope it would prevent me from getting gestational diabetes. I just don’t know what to do. I’m training as a Nurse and have worked in the hospital for 4 years as a healthcare support worker and it shocks me how little health professionals know about PCOS
