Maybe you could consider a private nipt bloods for your own piece of mind…

My friend was given a 99% chance of being downsydrome and she was born with not a single sign of it! All chromosomes completely ok! But even if they are born with downsydrome that baby has such a life ahead of them because times have changed so much!!💙💜

The midwife said nipt is not accurate as amnio …

My son was 1:92 for DS and so we had a cvs - that came back clear but 6 weeks later the full results came back (they test DS and Edward/pat v quick as most common and then test all other chromosomes if they’re neg) and it came back as too many chromosomes so had an amnio to see if in baby or placenta and amnio came back clear and last July my healthy baby boy was born. No issues health or otherwise and he is exceeding all milestones and developing perfectly. They’re very overly cautious with pregnancies so I’m sure it’s all fine!

@Dela she is right but it’s still a more non invasive procedure than an amino and the results will be far more accurate than your other bloods. At the end of the day I’ll say to you what I would ask my women… will the results change your decision on if you would continue with your pregnancy if the outcome is not good news? If the answer is no then try not to let these numbers worry you, if yes then I would consider the amino so you are fully informed of babies health.

I had a nipt test as mine came back with an elevated result and they said it’s 99% accurate. The only reason it can’t be 100% (like the amnio) is because it’s not a diagnostic test like the amnio. I know how your feeling right now though so sending love xx

@Charlotte thank you so much xx😞💙 they booked me for another scan which is on my 20 weeks.. she said if everything’s will be alright with the baby there is nothing to be worry but till then i’m gonna be so nervous…

Did you not have NIPT done after your results? I’m confused

I've been really worried too as my result was just over low risk. 1 in 220 as a percentage works out at 0.4%

I was given high chance of Down syndrome in two pregnancies and even then my baby was born healthy with no chromosomal abnormalities

@Laura 🌻 no as the dr said your blood test came back low chance which is ok and NIPT not accurate as amnio… also the baby was fine on 16 weeks but i’m so confused now.. 😭 i don’t know what should i do😭 the dr said i have another scan on week 20 with fetal medicine unit if everything will be ok about the baby grow so no peroblem at all but i’m nervous

@K what have you done ? Any amnio or NIPT?

I’m so scared to do amnio and even my midwife said so if your result back as a low chance and the baby was fine so it means you don’t need amnio but still i’m thinking.. 😭😭😭

I had an amnio with my last pregnancy, all came back clear but just gave me peace of mind - was quite a traumatic experience and there’s a chance of miscarriage too so only have one if you’re certain x
