i’ve heard from people who drink too many fizzy drinks who are now messed up because their intestines melted. that aside he’s risking catching cancer a lot faster. even though white claw isn’t seen as a problem by most it’s still alcohol and therefore carcinogenic. even drinking one can a night he’s risking cancer. a whole pack? probably alcohol poisoning at some point if he keeps up the habit
Alcohol is alcohol. I’m curious if your question is really asking whether or not he is an alcoholic? It’s hard to talk to someone who has a dependency problem. All you can really do is try and support him in helping himself stop. The best way I’ve found to help someone is to explain all the complications of alcoholism. Like how my friend’s dad doesn’t know who she is anymore because he got Alzheimer’s at 57. Doesn’t know his grandchild is even his own blood. Sobriety is hard but possible!
@Cami we had a friend die this year bc her liver failed after years of drinking so that's what I'm really thinking about in terms of his drinking. She was a heavy wine drinker and liquor when she partied so idk if white claw is going to do that to him the way something heavier like wine and liquor would
12 cans a night definitely could damage his liver
@quiddo this fizziness also causes heartburn and acid reflux really badly, I had to stop drinking those because it was literally painful. And they're so easy to drink, that you can down them fast like Smirnoff ice and before you know it you've finished the whole six pack
I hate to be so blunt but yes it can. I’m not saying it will but that’s just the thing about alcohol. It’s poison and the only real point of it is to lose control. So to try and make sense of something with such a broad range of negatives.. is just too large a task. I’m sorry you’re going through this but I’m glad you’re looking for any kind of information or answers. He is lucky to have you and I hope you both get some relief in whatever way shape or form it’s needed. Death is hard but life is harder. It’s all about how we choose to look at the world and what we want to do with our time on it. Finding value in things other than drinking will help greatly. I really do wish you both the best.
1 can is still considered the same as a glass of wine or shot of liquor 1 can of regular White Claw (not surge) has 5% ABV. To put in perspective- 1 can of Bud Light has 4.2%. So it’s more than having 10-12 beers
