hey i had a caesarean section and i had gel nails they didn’t say anything

I found out that the reason they don’t like nails is because they have to put this thing on your finger to measure your pulse called a pulse oximeter. So if your nails are too long, they can’t get an accurate reading I think. I had a c section planned because my girl was breech but I went into labour a day before the scheduled date. So I still had to have the c section, however, I hadn’t taken my nails off because I planned to do so the day before my scheduled date. They still did the c section and I wasn’t made to take the nails off and these were acrylics! I have a picture of my nails from that day which I’ll add for reference! At my 10 day pp check up, my nails had obviously grown a bit and the midwife struggled to get a reading so she put it on my thumb where the nails had broken off. So I assumed that’s the only reason they don’t like nails. Maybe if that’s the case, you could just paint them? And if they really don’t like it, just bring some nail polish remover 🤷🏼‍♀️

And that thing on my finger is what I’m talking about above!

@Becky yeah i agree, mine weren’t as long as yours

Thank you , I was scared of having to remove my gel nails, I did them yesterday 😅and I was thinking a lot, I didn't want to have to remove them, I was more relieved after reading your comments. Thanks 🙏🏾 xx @Zsofia @Becky

@Gena oh you’ll be absolutely fine then! They’re quite small compared to the ones I had on x

All it’s about for your safety as if they need emergency help to you nail colour or gel long nail sometimes it’s not help to check your Helth

As long it’s short not dark colour should not be a problem x
