Positive C- Section Stories

So I was told by my doctor today that I most likely need to prepare/plan to have a cesarean delivery since my baby is still breech and I am at 36 weeks. I am a little nervous now knowing this because for whatever reason I just always thought I’d have a vaginal delivery and have heard good and bad stories from other women who have had both cesarean and vaginal deliveries. I am hoping to hear about some good/positive delivery stories now that I am in the home stretch of my pregnancy heading into week 37!!!

My first was emergency c section and it was smooth. I pushed for 6.5 hours before so I’m not 100% on recovery because I basically attempted both types of birth and it took me a while to even stand, but I had no issues. I took Tylenol when I got home and even stopped that at the end of the first week! I cannot recommend a belly band enough btw either from the hospital or one you buy. Baby comes out in around 10 min and can usually be placed on your chest while they stitch you up. Even with emergency I was done in under 30 min and back in my room. Within a day I was walking perfectly fine, scar had no issues. You do have restrictions driving and lifting for a while (4-6 weeks) so you have to have support systems in place but I felt perfectly fine around the 4 week mark. I have a scheduled c section this round and I’ve heard it’s much smoother with scheduled

I had this exact same conversation with my doctor yesterday- 36 weeks with a very large baby that is breech. I have a family history of c-section, but I was still hoping to at least start natural, so I was pretty emotional yesterday. They are discussing whether a ECV (manually turning the baby) is an option. How big is your baby? Is that an option? I know a lot of people who have had c sections and didn't have major complications- it just takes longer to heal, from what I understand. I'm sure a planned c section is less traumatic than an emergency one, though.

My c section story is also positive. Knowing ahead of time helps process this. I was happy to not have my lady parts stretched out tbh! Having another end of July. Longer recovery but totally doable♥️whatever is safest for the baby and you♥️
