Is georgia racist or is it just my town?

Like I just moved here about a year and a half ago and I have had nothing but problems and so have my kids. Like I'm a friendly person I don't treat anybody a type of way especially when it comes to skin color I believe everybody is equal and everybody should be treated with respect. Okay here's my rant I am a white married woman with four kids now let's start with my kids I live in Riverdale my kids go to Riverdale High School every time I turn around either the teachers or the kids are just completely ignorant. There was one time my daughter asked to use the bathroom and the teacher had a problem with it but any other child asked they got a pass. Then there was also when my daughter was looking for a bathroom and the bathrooms were locked and she asked a teacher if she was able to use it and he unlocked it and told her to hurry up because he's really sick of her kind like WTH and then there was another situation where kids keep calling my children crackers expecting my children's be racist back towards him but my child refuses to do that they even told her well I'll give you the black card and wrote it on a piece of paper saying she can say that word she refused to and says I'm sorry but I don't use that word I think that's disrespectful no one should treat people and they just kept on and on with her started picking at her teachers just look at it tomorrow still try to get my daughter to say the racist comment. And then another time my daughter was sexually harassed buy a child but teachers refuse to do anything and tell her it's just boys being boys but when it happened to someone else it became a big issue I feel like it's because my children are white they have been singled at time and time again from teachers staff and children. My husband has dealt with this at his job as well because he is white treating him differently or them just being a holes towards him. If I go to the store people look at me weirdly and make comments of what is that white girl doing here or is just completely rude mind you I will have my two toddlers with me. I also I'm in a group online that you can buy or get free stuff from well I've been looking for a crib for my child I've messaged a couple people in the group but I get no answer mind you that there was a couple of other people that message the same ones I did and they got the answer right away even when I message them first which is supposed to be first come first serve in this group no this has been going on for months that I've dealt with that with this group yes I'm about to leave the group because I feel the type of way about it even after I tried to help them find good deals, prices and free stuff I have seen in the group of them talking trash without them realizing I'm on over a lot of things in Georgia I don't know it's just my town or if it's just Georgia in general but this is pretty sad never had this problem in any other state I've lived I just don't understand it how can people do this especially when it's a mom group and especially when it comes to children in schools you're supposed lift these children up and let them know that racism is wrong and singling out people is wrong but when I bring it to the school's attention or I say something in general about it then I become the bad guy like TF okay rant over

It definitely can still be prejudice, I’m from here and I’ve been called a jiggaboo and more . My kids have insured small kids saying they hate blacks so yes

I’m so sorry that you’re going through this. As a mama of mixed babies (black and white) this is my fear! I’m married to a white man and it’s sad to say that my “family” has been more racist towards him than the other way around.

I’ve seen this often too and it’s sad because no matter the color we Just Humans who love❤️‼️

@Rose Watson I am so sorry you were going through that sweetheart that is so wrong I believe everybody should be respected and treated like an equal I think this has to do with the way these kids are being parented and it's pretty sad. I have friends and family with different backgrounds that we treat respectfully that's how it should be and they do the same in return I just don't understand Georgia how can people be this way it's like they're trying to divide all of us when we should be all United and work together as adults and parents

I’ve lived in Georgia my whole life. Sadly it is. But also I think that stuff is everywhere unfortunately. Riverdale also isn’t the best area. I’m so sorry you’re going through that.

@Haley you see we didn't know this is how Riverdale was we were from out of state and we were looking for a house and everywhere we went was scams this was the first house that we found that wasn't a scam and we needed to take it because my husband was transferred out here and then when we got here it was a whole different scenario on how people acted I was in complete shock my children come home everyday from school extremely upset my husband is always pissed off because of the way he's treated with his job and I feel hurt because my toddlers have to see this

This is just how the world is now. It’s not just Ga. We moved from Az and had some pretty noticeable racist encounters. I would move the babies to a different school if you feel like the school they are in is failing them. I had to move my middle son to a different school because I didn’t like the environment and the mindset of the staff.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. We’re from south Florida and moved to Lawrenceville and it’s a big melting pot and we’ve been here for almost 2 years no issues whatsoever. We’re Hispanic and our neighbors are all something different! We love it here. You might have to consider moving somewhere new

@Jehiah wow that is so sad

Im noticing that the more “diverse” the more prejudice and judgment towards other demographics

I’ve lived in ga my whole life and a few places we’ve lived where it’s mainly black it’s racist to white but where it’s mainly white they’re not racist to blacks

@Kaylee Bingo!

@Kaylee yes I don't understand that how can that happen towards a mixed or a white person and it's normal but if it's the other way around it's a whole big issue I think everyone it just needs to show respect everyone needs to make money and live and go on with their life we all have enough stress and b******* in our life and now we have to deal with this s*** SMDH but to be honest I think it happens more often to all Races it doesn't matter if you're white, mixed , black Etc if there's a majority of one background they are going to mistreat the other but that's just my opinion

@Kaylee I don’t truly agree with you, because I live in a black community and I’ve seen people accept YT PEOPLE in the area very well some even come hang out and eat dinner at our tables . The problem comes when there is Yt People in black communities diminishing them by purposely feeling as if they will be treated unfairly before even attempting to validate the community .

@Rose Watson yes very true but it also is the other way around too I feel everybody deserves respect no matter what background you came from or where you even came from we all are just people that want to work hard and provide for our families

I agree

I haven’t noticed any in the town I’m in, but I lived in Brunswick and it was ROUGH

Georgia is racist. There is a Hwy 20, and it literally divides the metro area into sides. Generally, the south side of 20 is mostly black, and the north side has more white neighborhoods. There’s melting pot areas like Gwinnett and Marietta which have LOTS of immigrants (I’m from Gwinnett). We live in a super honky part of GA now, and my hubs is the only POC in our neighborhood. We are the only mixed family in most of the places we frequent. We get crazy looks all the time. I would move north if I were you.

@Reese This get them out of there. Kennesaw, Hiram and Marietta are decent areas
