Husband is uncircumcised and it keeps causing me to catch BV

I feel like I can’t have a good sex life with my husband because of his bad habits with hygiene. Since we’ve been together, we didn’t have sex as much; but we are TTC baby #2 and this is my 3rd time getting BV. It’s painful and irritating. I’ve told him before marriage that I didn’t care if he was uncircumcised and we’ve used condoms in the past.

Wow that's tough. Should probably take probiotic and have your husband use Castille or antibacterial soap

Mine is uncircumcised too and I us3d to have an issue but we talked about cleanliness and never had an issue since.

Mine is uncircumcised too. Never had an issue. I do know that he washes it thoroughly everyday, even pulling the skin back to get it super clean.

@Tori I’m going to get him to use those soaps. He uses body wash.

@Emily he refuses to see a doctor. He’s a hardcore vegetarian and works out 3-4 times a week.

Are you 100% sure it’s due to that fact that he still has foreskin? Many things can cause the PH imbalance that leads to BV. Might be worth you both switching up your toiletries and seeing if that makes a difference.

Mine is uncircumcised and I have no issues with BV. I would be looking at multiple things your using as a couple that might be causing this issue

i don’t think it’s to do with him being uncircumcised, but rather unhygienic. circumcised males still need to clean their penis so it wouldn’t really make a difference. my partner is uncircumcised and i’ve never had any problems, because he properly cleans himself daily. he should be pulling the skin back to clean daily and using a mild soap down there in the shower

I honestly don't think it's to do with his foreskin hun, or all British women would have BV! Sounds gross but it's probably a cleanliness issue...

My husband is uncircumcised and I never had a BV, you may want to speak to your OB for the causes and preventions. Also if it’s reoccurring then it could mean it wasn’t treated properly the first time around.

has nothing to do with his diet or being uncircumcised. i had more issues with circumcised men actually. but it is an issue that he won’t get checked out. but it’s not just sex that can cause it. both of you should get checked to be honest

BV is not a sexually Transmitted disease. So uncircumcised has nothing to do with getting BV. It could be his cleanliness issue or could be your only body acting diff. You don’t have to be sexually active to get BV. He should focus on being more clean and you should also see your gynae.

Both partners I’ve had were uncircumcised. First one I always noticed his poor hygiene, and I would be sensitive too. He had a terrible diet. Current partner no problem what so ever, he is so clean. I could suck it any time of the day lol. But he also has a very healthy diet. I believe food and hygiene comes down to both - we also don’t use any soaps or shampoos or perfumes in our whole family household - we believe they are poison and toxic and our bodies hair smell great without them!

Funny you saying that. I've literally come back from a n e with a kidney infection, this is 2nd in a month. I'm exhausted. Pain is unbearable 💔 😢 really puts me off sex.

It will be the hygiene issue not the fact that he's uncircumcised.
