Work + UC

Looking to go back to work 18-20 hrs a week, I’m currently a single mum only receiving UC. Just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation and can advise me on the universal credit side and how much they’re still entitled to when taking home about £900 a month from work? I’ve tried the online calculators but I’m finding it confusing to find out how much I earn affects my UC entitlement Thanks :)

There will be a certain amount of your standard allowance which isn’t effected and after that for every £1 of earnings they will deduct 0.55p.

So it will be what you get now, minus any job seekers if you get that. And then 55p deducted for each £ you earn
