How long does you LO sleep at night?

So while I know every baby is different and some sleep great while others don’t. All I seem to be seeing/ hearing from other mums is how well their babies sleep. Some from say 8/9-7!! I can’t help but be jealous and I wonder as I feel so alone and like I’ll never get sleep again. Is anyone else’s little one still waking every 2/3 hours. My little one is 4.5 months and she has never slept through not even once. Think I just need some hope it will get better lol!🥲Thanks in advance 😊

You are not alone neither has mine forever jelous of babues who manage to sleep through the night im sure our time will come one day 😹

It is very very very normal for babies to not sleep through the night, their stomachs are tiny so they need feeding regularly and then waking up helps protect them against SID. Plus sometimes they just need comfort from their mummies! My little girl didn’t sleep through the night until she was 5.5 months and that’s when we moved into her own room as my snoring was disturbing her 😆l

Our son is 9 months and still wakes multiple times a night 😫xx

My baby is almost one month and I’m going through the same. I must say it’s the toughest thing yet lol

Lol I wish he could sleep all night i know time will come eventually for now we just have to enjoy the fact that they need us, my baby is 4 months he wakes every 3 hours he goes to bed by 8pm wakes up closer to midnight for a feed then 3am then 6am. What I started to practice now was putting him in the bassinet drowsy and him to fall asleep and try to let him cry for 5 mins for him to fall asleep on his own. It was recommended by the pediatrician. Since at 6 months he will go to his own room

Most don’t sleep through the night. It’s a fallacy. Ours slept through the night once at 16wks from 23:00-07:00, and for 3 nights just before he turned 9 months. From 20:00-06:00! That’s it. He’s 10.5 months now. And wakes up once sometimes twice a night. When they are younger waking up more often is normal too

Then there’s the fun 4 month, 6/7/8 month regression and teething and all that disrupts their sleep. It will get better

My first baby didn’t sleep more than 2 hours until she was 6-12 months old. Even now at 2 she won’t sleep the full night. My second started sleeping from 7pm-7am with a dream feed at 11pm from 6 weeks. With my first, I did everything to try and get her to sleep. It was so stressful. With my second I embraced the contact naps and allowed him to sleep as much as possible in the day, ignoring routines and following his cues (he’s now 12 weeks). Some babies sleep lots, some don’t. I wish I hadn’t worried so much about my first. Do you have someone who can help you split the night? I used to sleep from 7pm-1am whilst my husband had the baby, and he would sleep from 1am-6am whilst I had the baby.

Thank you everyone for your comments! Feel way less alone and it’s reassuring to know there are lots Of others in the same boat! It will get better eventually!🫶🏻

@Hannah aw thank you for your comment! I do the same I just go with her cues. Doing shifts is a great idea, my partner is in the army so he’s away a lot at the moment unfortunately😢 but I will suggest that! Thanks again😊

From 9 weeks he did 8pm-2am then 2:30am-6am. He would wake for a 2am feed, this eventually got later and later until 13 weeks he did 8pm-6am. We slowly brought bedtime earlier to 6:30pm. It was a dream for about 5 weeks until he hit a regression that lasted about 3 months. It was horrific. He’s now 13 months and will usually go to bed at 5:30pm and wake at 6am. Some nights will be straight through and some nights he’ll be up frequently.

@Jennifer wow that’s a dream 5.30 to 6 but I understand it took a while to get there. But that gives me hope thank you :)

My LO is 6 months and wakes up a minimum of two times overnight. Her usual sleep including wake ups is 9-12 hours. Mind you when she wakes up I feed her and she falls asleep within 5 minutes of waking up.

I completely under it’s hard. We’ve experienced both sides. It’s fluctuates often depending on teething, nursery bugs etc. My advice would be to stay consistent with a routine. Naps and bedtime if you can. We would do bottle, bath then bed, so he didn’t rely on a feed to fall asleep. Little things like that I’d say have helped us. You’re doing amazing Mama 🫶🏼

@Jennifer aw thank you for your kind words! I appreciate it, I need to implement a better bedtime routine I think! You’re doing amazing too 🫶🏻🫶🏻
