What have you found to help your baby with silent reflux?

My baby is 2 months old and struggling with silent reflux. We have tried carobel in his milk but it seemed to make it worse and now the doctors have give him gaviscon. Just looking to see how long it took your baby to get better with it? How long did it take to notice a difference with your babies symptoms? And what else has everyone tried to help with silent reflux?

We took the natural approach. We limited feeds to 2.5oz every 2 hours, burped after every feed, held her upright for 20-30 after every feed, did as much chest sleeping / tummy time as possible. We also added nat phos 6x to her bottles and I drunk a ton of chamomile tea so she could get it through my breastmilk. She’s 3 months now and gets a reflux attack 1-2 times a week but it doesn’t bother her too much now.

Getting omeprozole (and getting the dose right) was really was the only thing that made any sort of difference for us. We had gaviscon given to us first but it didn't help at all. Once we got the omeprozole it made a difference quite quickly. Also I know its not what you want to hear at the time but just as they get bigger it does get better. My little boy is 5 months now and it's so much better. When he was 2 months I just felt helpless because it was so bad, we couldn't lay him down at all so had to take turns in holding him upright.

These things really do take time. My little boy started suffering from 3 weeks now at 19 weeks we have started seeing benefits. /progress We use gaviscon and omeprazole. Omeprazole took a number of weeks before we started seeing any benefits, using them both has had huge benefits for him (touch wood). As above mentioned getting the right dose is key also to increase with their weight if you start noticing it starts playing up. We feed in an elevated side lying position and keep him up for 20-30 minuets. Burping when feeding doesn’t help much because he then will stop feeding all together but that’s just for us. It’s really tough xx

Aptamil reflux milk life saver. My little girl is 9 months and reflux has gone completely. We started it when she was about the same age

Omeprazole was the only thing that worked for us xx

We tried gaviscon and carobel but none worked alone or even together therefore we were put on omeproxole and that was the only thing that helped alongside the carobel and ensuring we waited the 4 mins for it to fully thicken! We was then advised to start weaning at 5 months which did help too x

@Kiersa hey mama xx I also intend to take the natural approach for my 6 week EBF baby.. how does chamomile tea help? Tia xx

@Christel chamomile tea is used to treat digestive issues because it soothes and relaxes the digestive tract. You can either drink it so it passes to baby but I know in some cultures they give to baby directly.

Oh amazing to know! Thank you @Kiersa I have a box in my cupboard so will add that to my daily liquid intake thank you xx
