Own room

My little one is 5 months on the 11th July. At what age did you put/planning on putting your little ones into their own room? Advise on how you done it would be great! TIA x

We plan to set up my little one’s nursery sometime this month (he’ll be 5m on the 16th) and transition him by doing day naps in his own room but night sleeps still in our room. Once he feels comfortable in his new space, then he’ll be in there for night sleeps too! xx

My LO has been sleeping in his own room since he was 2.5 months old. We started by having him napping there during the day and then moved on with sleeping. Best decision ever! Really improved his sleep.

We kept our little boy in our bedroom until he was 13months (we live in a 3-storey house) After that we put a travel cot in his bedroom and transitioned him into that before dismantling and moving his actual cot down. He took to it very quickly and it was so much better for everyone. We would go up to bed when he was in our room and disturb his sleep with just the sound of us getting into bed. So now we are much more free in going to bed earlier, showering even just having a conversation in bed! And on the flip he gets a peaceful night sleep with no disturbances!

We put our little girl into her room somewhere between 5-6 months. Only because she was too big for the Moses basket and tbh slept better in her own room x

My first was 4 months, my second we moved at 5 months because he was sleeping well and we were still transitioning the toddler to his new room. Reasons were different with both. My first we moved because we are all sleeping terribly and getting him in his own space helped and my second was just because he was too big for his bassinet. With both of them we just full on moved rooms all at once. All naps and bed time just shifted to the new room and it really didn't bother them any

We did it at 7 months. We always did her overnight feeds and changes in her nursery and had her nap in her crib before the transition. We also made sure to have the same white noise in both places. It was a seamless transition!

We did it at 6 months as we were disturbing his sleep! We put him in the big cot (from the next to me) in our room for a couple of weeks to get him used to that and then moved him into his room

My girl is 5 months on 19th we plan to start giving her naps in her cot to get use to it and then overnight once she’s 6 months

My first is 4 years old and we did it at 5 months. He’s never had a problem even to this day! My youngest is 5 months on 1st August so we’ll be transitioning then too. We do day time naps now in his nursery to get him used to it x

We haven't yet, she's 19 months. We don't plan to move her until she wants to go in her own room xx

We did it at 3 months as we were all disrupting each other's sleep. It was fine and made no difference to his night wakings. Just a bit further for us to go to tend to him 😀 We just went for it first thing one morning so he could have his day naps there too. We did play and change him in his room quite often before then though so he knew the room. X

We put my daughter in her own room at 4 weeks old as she was turning in her bassinet and we didn’t have space for her crib in our room. We are SO glad we did! We both get better sleep now as her active sleep doesn’t wake us up, and us moving around doesn’t wake her up. We first started by having her take atleast 1 nap a day in her crib, and then I think by day 3 she was sleeping in it at night. It also helps because summers where I live are pretty intense so we have an AC unit in our room and we wouldn’t be able to use that if she was sleeping with us.

Moved her from her next to me into her cot in our room when she was about 4 months, then about 7 months we moved the cot away from the bed, she started sleeping better straight away so 2 weeks later we moved her into her own room… she still wakes up for a bottle about 4am but her quality of sleep is soo much better (she’s about to turn 1)

My original plan was when he started sleeping through the night but this happened at 6 weeks so I didnt. Then I aimed for 6 months but had a bit of anxiety about it so waited a bit longer

Officially at 8 months. It’s great! :)

I put mine in a few weeks ago and she’s 11months so far I’ve slept in a bed next to her ever since 🙈 I hate being away from her

My boy just turned 6 months today was planning on putting him in his own room tonight but teething has been a real problem and he's waking up ALOT so putting it on hold for a couple weeks. But he has all his day naps in his cot in his own room. With the same white noise and red light machine

From 4 months I did one day time nap in it and then built it up to all naps by 7 months and then around 9 months he went into his own room over night. He was absolutely fine but it was more my anxiety over it.

We transitioned at 7 months. We had baby nap in her crib leading up to the change and made sure she had the same white noise that she had in our room, and the transition was seamless.
