HELP!!

My 6 week old baby just slept for 7 hours and I’m freaking out again. Just two days ago I posted how he slept for 5 hrs. He slept at 9pm and just woke up now at 4:20 AM. For more context, yes he’s been growing and gaining well. And he’s producing a lot of wet diapers in a day. But note when he woke up, he only fed for 10 mins and now he’s sleeping again Please help!!!

I am in the exact same boat! At night, my little one is sleeping for 5-6.5 hours, before waking and wanting a feed/changing. In the day, he is much more of a schedule, often waking up every 2-3 hours or so. Any advice or help is welcome!

I don’t think there’s anything to “help” he’s just not hungry and he’s sleeping longer periods. My baby was my alarm if he wakes I feed him if not I wake when he does wake and cry. Whenever that is. Get your sleep mama. I mean, there’s other mamas screaming for help coz their baby is waking hourly 😂 I know what I would prefer.

That’s fine! I’m guessing he’s over birth weight and feeding regularly in the day. Enjoy the long stretches as it all might change!

This is a good thing!! Don't panic lol 💙🤣 as long as baby is gaining weight they will start sleeping longer stretches at night. This is showing good signs that they are already starting to know the difference between day and night too :) My baby did the same thing, random long stretches then at 10 weeks has been sleeping through the night consistently!

One day you’ll look back at this moment and laugh a little 😂 I did the same thing took that sleep for granted and freaked out, now he’s 3yr and I’m in here sleep deprived 😭 I’m sending love everything is good momma 🥰

What about the fact that even though he slept a long stretch, he only fed for 10 mins?? 😓

He'd feed more if he was hungry. You seem to be one of the lucky mums whose baby naturally starts sleeping through early (it might only last until you hit the 4 month sleep regression though). As long as you continue to get wet nappies and baby is gaining weight I would not worry at all. I'm not a pediatrician though - just an envious mum

@Khushbo 5-40mins is a good feed. So 10mins is fine.

If your baby is a healthy weight I’d say the sleep is completely fine. They’re probably eating enough and can go that long

This happened to me! At 6 weeks baby slept 6 hours straight at night and I woke up worried that something happened to her. Her doctor said it was absolutely fine, some babies just start sleeping through the night earlier than others. Baby is now 15 weeks and sleeps a full 12 hours at night

same here! but is a good thing, why you are worried

If ur lo is gaining weight then it’s fine let them sleep. Count urself lucky u sleep too

I don't see why you're worried. Sounds great. They'll let you know when they're hungry

Normal

Is your room temperature reasonably ok? Obviously in many areas it’s really hot. He obviously needs to be able to wake up long enough to feed sufficiently. But it’s reassuring if he’s wetting regularly. When mine was first born, and was in hospital trying to establish breast feeding, I remember one night I couldn’t get him to wake up enough to feed enough (the ward was very warm)…. I spoke to one of the nurses - she took a paper towel and soaked it with cool water, rung it out a fair bit, rolled it up and told me to wipe his face with it…. basically to cool him and wake him. It worked well, he woke up and he fed… and never again has he been too asleep to feed 😅
