Period Underwear

I’m done with pads, I refuse to use tampons, and WTF is a menstrual cup? 😭 I’ve considered period underwear but it doesn’t seem sanitary… like how often do I have to change them out? Grateful for any input <3

Don’t knock it till you try it. my period cup has changed my life, I forget I’m even on my period sometimes

I tried a menstrual cup and I hated it. It felt like it got stuck in there and it was a messy pain in the ass trying to get it out. I immediately threw it away and went back to pads 🙄

I use a cup and period panties. Omg I love no longer dealing with a pad or liner in my underwear. The cup usually catches everything, so the panties are more for peace of mind. As for just using the panties unless are only spotting I wouldn't risk it. However I was waring mine to bed when I was expecting my period to come and I'm insanely thankful I was waring them. There was a lot of blood and no leaking. I wouldn't However try using only them if you have a heavy flow. The thing with the cup is they are not one size or shape fits all. Their are diffrent types with diffrent shapes, sizes, and materials. I use the hello low cervix one that does not have a nub thing on it. I was using the small before I had my son and the large after. The are a bit to get used to but once you find the right one you would be amazed at how nice it is only needing to dump them twice a day. I cant remember the site that gives you a quiz to figure out what the best one for you will be but it really helped.

I have an incredibly low cervix that when I got my iud before having my son and then again when I got pregnant it dropped down almost out of my vagina which was horrifying. Tampons never worked for me because they are to long and would end up hitting my cervix or sitting more besides it so I would only have blood on part of the tampon and still need a pad. Also any time I had to poop I would just push them out. So I say try taking a quiz to find a cup that may work for you. It definitely changed my life. Way less cramps for me when using them as well This is the quize i think https://putacupinit.com/quiz/

I change mine 3* a day. Morning, arvo, night. Then when I have a shower I chuck them all at my feet in the shower and let the water run through them as a rinse then I squeeze and chuck into the wash basket. It’s called a “shower stomp” the retailers recommend this as its not any extra effort or water or time wasted

@Ashley this is extremely helpful thank you 🙏🏻

So if you are light bleeder, you can honestly free bleed at home and even short outings. Personally, I use tampons for a few days maybe the 1st and 2nd day as they are my heaviest flow then switch to period underwear and free bleeding. I typically don’t need to change them more than once a day as normal however if they get super wet I do change them up to 3 times a day or throw a pad on for a few hours while it’s heavy or while I don’t have access to a bathroom whenever I need it. I tend to pee every 1-1 1/2 while bleeding, often even wipe my underwear a little and it’s never bled through. However you really need to know your body and your flow patterns. Best of luck!!

Currently wearing some and I love them. The Knix brand is great

I wear period underwear and no not the ones that look like diapers actual period underwear. U can’t see them in tight clothes cuz they just look like regular underwear. I have wore them over night in my heavy days. They are like $12 each but insurance medical credit cards cover it if u got it but either way $12 each is NOTHING cuz they washable and u won’t need to spend all that money buying pads and junk

I’ve been wanting to try them too lol I’ve been googling about it Based off what I’ve read I think they’re best for the light flow days but not sure Still haven’t tried

I typically have a huge flow and found free bleeding/wearing period underwear to help with my flow so much. There’s only been one time where I did bleed through but it was my first day of flow during a really stressful time. But I think overall they’re very trusting as long as you know your body!

Idk know if yall heard but Tampax just released info on the toxins that were found in all their tampons I use pads bc I’m heavy too scared to try to the cup I feel like the blood will just spill out also do you wash it after every use

I use the period “underwear”. They’re cheap, and I change mine once a day. Normally every time I shower. There is occasional times when it’s too heavy and I have to change it so it don’t leak. But other than that it’s JUST like a pad. And no one knows unless you tell ‘em

Periods suck, man… I don’t want to use anything! I was very happy living my IUD life with no periods or anything. After I have this baby very soon, I’ll have one year to recover and heal and get ready for round two. Then hopefully get back into the IUD lifestyle. But I know it’s not for everyone.

Yeah. . Period cup sounds ... Ehhhh.. iffffy

@Kyra they hold a lot and I mean a lot of blood. On my super heavy days when I dump them 4x morning, lunch, after work, before bed and they will be about or a little over half full and not leak. I have 2 now because hello cup just made the hello low cervix in black which I love since there is no staining. I will at least rinse with water but usaly clean with a foaming soap made for them every time i dump my cup. There are cleaning cups you can get as well as wipes and stuff for them on Amazon. They also make a applicator than can make inserting like using a tampon for less mess with the cups. I just like using tge underwear ontop of the cup because it gives me Pease of mind that even if something did happen I would be protected from the dreaded leak through.

I actually want to know what everyone's favorite period panties are. I just got a somewhat cheap 3 pack on Amazon or well 2 of them because they were cheaper and had good reviews

I love period panties. It’s not messy like pads and all you do is throw in the wash after 12hrs. No chemicals, no mess and no worry.

@Ashley I get mine from Walmart in the pad area. Called thinx
