First time Mom here my nine month old has got a little cough and a little bit of congestion. What can I use for a natural remedy or medicine?

I put cut up onion on babies sock and a large piece in bowl. It might be stinky but I do think it made a difference! Also if you have any milk from the newborn stage try offering it !
We use hylands cold medicine and it works wonders!
