I see. In my baby’s case the discoloration came from the early breastfeeding days. And I now recall that it was the inner parts of the lips that came in contact with the nipple that had turned dark. So it might not be the same as your situation.

Don’t worry, it evens out with time. For my baby it took 8 weeks
