I'm trying to transition my little one over to cows milk. He will drink it but only in sips. He won't drink a whole 200ml like he would his formula bottle. Any advice? He will drink formula milk at room temperature so I tried leaving the cows milk out for a while to warm up a bit. He still only had about 90ml from his bottle. How long can milk be left out of the fridge to get to room temperature? How are you giving your little one's cows milk? He hasnt mastered a straw cup yet. Is there a set amount of cows milk they should have each day? So many questions 🤣

If he has 90 ml I don't think it's because he doesn't like the temperature. Food is more important now so I wouldn't worry about it, as long as he gets decent food and things like yoghurt and cheese to get his calcium.
My little girl doesn’t drink cows milk cold she has it warmed up for 20 seconds in the microwave and then I just shake it so no hot spots. She does drink less milk than she did formula. They say at 1 years old they should be having 350-400ml of milk or 2/3 servings of dairy a day. Too much milk can cause anaemia. My little girl drinks water out of a straw cup but won’t drink milk so we are still using mam bottles x
They don’t need a set amount! So wouldn’t worry at all about this intake. After 1 the focus is on their meals. These should be nutritionally balanced and you can get everything you need without cows milk. Cows milk is just an easy way to ensure they get calcium/vitamins and some babies might need the comfort still and used to their bottles but also transitioning away from bottles is recommended. But really it’s just focusing on their nutrition overall and so no panic if they aren’t having much milk but would then make sure they are having a serve of yoghurt/cheese etc. There are also non-dairy sources of calcium.
The upper limit for cows milk per day is around 350ml as otherwise you risk anaemia, as calcium blocks iron absorption.
My girl is having cold cows milk in an open cup like water and just a few sips here and there. Probably getting 50-100ml’s per day and not every day. She’s never used a bottle, we are down to one breastfeed per day and close to weaning. She has yoghurt.

Thank you everyone, this is so helpful. I had no idea that too much cow's milk was bad! He has yoghurt and cheese daily. He always has a bottle before bed so maybe I'll try warming it and then just offering a small amount with meals in the day
