@Rachel doctor had assured me I could breastfeed on these so I have been, just baby has now become very very unsettled since taking then. I am going back to tge hospital tomorrow to get checked so I will let them know also. I was just wondering if anyone else had been through the same
I was admitted to hospital with my infection and was there for 5 days,I was taking coamixiclav via iv and I breastfed the whole time from advice from midwives… my baby was similar but even changing him to formula will unsettle baby so keep doing what you’re doing, it’s just a few days ❤️❤️
You could consider a probiotic for babe and that may help get through this period of tummy upset. Most antibiotics are safe to breastfed with but may hurt LOs tummy for a bit
I breastfed whilst taking these - it's absolutely safe! They are the recommended antibiotics for pregnant women and breastfeeding mums! Unfortunately, my infection didn't clear up as I had a second strain of bacteria and was prescribed metronidazole which upset both mine and my little ones stomach dreadfully! There's always a chance of those side effects, but it's usually worth the risk as you could make the infection worse by not taking them and have a much longer recovery time. I'd speak to your GP on Monday for advice or ring 111 if you're really worried about your baby. Don't stop taking the antibiotics before you speak to someone though as you ideally need to finish the course now you've started them x

I was told breastfeeding was fine while on this x
I don't think you're allowed to breastfeed while taking antibiotics, so you might have to do formula whilst taking them.
