Yes arsenic is high in rice. Oatmeal is better!

Or soaking Cheerios in formula to soften them is good too!

How old is your baby?

I’ve never done rice cereal or oatmeal! Oatmeal is a good option but not necessary. I do not do rice cereal because of the arsenic levels and I’d prefer giving my son food that naturally has iron in it instead of something fortified with it.

@Jordan Can you give me some options please?

Leafy green veggies also have iron in them. My baby didn’t do any purres and only ate oatmeal a few times. She prefers other foods. I put broccoli or spinach in eggs for her in the morning as well as brócoli, cauliflower, and carrots in chicken nuggets. Google foods high in iron to get some other ideas as well :)

No don’t use any gerber they all have toxic level of metals and have been having on and off lawsuits for years. They got worse recently. And there are lawsuits currently on Kirkland wipes and Phillip Avent baby bottles

Looks like you can puree quinoa as an alternative to oats

I would do barley instead. As other have said unfortunately there is a concern for arsenic and other heavy metals in the rice cereal especially if it the primary cereal for baby.

I don’t trust gerber. Even organic.

@Deepa meat, eggs, sweet potatoes, greens, beans, poultry, some fish just check mercury levels and don’t serve too often each week. I try to stay away from a lot of processed foods so we serve lots of balanced home cooked meals. I just make sure he gets his fruits, veggies, meat, dairy and healthy fats like avocado and some carbs/starches like sweet potatoes or pasta sometimes
