Dropping nap

So my 3 year old has still been having 1 nap per day usually an hour(sometimes a little longer at weekend) he’s never slept through the night but for the last week or so he’s been in bed 8/8.30 and pretty much slept through but then been getting up anything from 5.15-6 in the morning, I spoke to nursery and we decided to try dropping his nap at nursery especially since he’s going to pre school room in September today is the first day he’s not napped and he’s been fine all day apparently but as soon as we got home about 6.30 he fell asleep on the settee by 6.45, he’s in bed now flat out but now I’m nervous he’s going to wake up about 4 to get up 😂 is this too early for bed? Is it normal after his first day with no nap? He’s my only child so honestly I’ve been winging it since he was born!!!

Im following because I have the same issuex

@Senna I’m so worried he’s going to wake up even earlier tomorrow then either fall asleep at nursery or be over tired because he doesn’t have a nap and we’re going to spiral back into rubbish sleep 😂

Hi. My little girl turned 3 last week and only occasionally has a nap in the day. If she doesn’t nap, she is in bed asleep by 6.45pm and doesn’t wake till 7am (ish). I find if she’s up later than that, we have earlier wake ups in the mornings due to being overtired. Xx

So update: he woke at 11 for a drink(makes sense really he didn’t have his usual drink before bed) then got out of bed at 4.15 but I didn’t manage to put him straight back where he stayed until 6.15 let’s see if tonight goes any better 😂

We are in a very similar situation.

My girl doesn’t nap & hasn’t for the past maybe 5 months. She wakes around 6am & goes to bed 6:30. By 5:30 I just have to keep her going x

I have just raised same issue with my son’s nursery. They keep him on a nap up to 2 hours all the time. He is now 3 year old 1 month. My worry is how he will adapt to school schedules starting next year September 2025:( he doesn’t go to bed till 10 or 11 daily.)

@Yesim our old nursery used to do that they said they have a policy not to wake them, luckily his current nursery are very good and will do whatever I ask
