Medication for baby

My daughter is 11 months old and it is a battle to give her any calpol or nurofen, I ask my partner to hold her arms down and hold her head facing me so that I can give her some sort of pain relief but as soon as she screams and cries and becomes a battle and can’t give her any he gives up and says it’s fine we don’t need to do this, It’s clearly not fine! Then I feel like the bad mum for trying to give our daughter medication does anyone else’s partner does this? I’m so frustrated Yes I’ve also tried every trick, give it on a spoon, through bottle teat etc, she knows all the tricks in the book 🤦🏼‍♀️

My niece was like that so in end they used put calpol in her drink without her knowing and they made sure she drank it. It work for them.

I think some people just react differently to hearing their child cry. I’m your partner, if somethings making my son very upset I’m very reluctant to do it whereas my partner isn’t as affected by it, however when it comes to meds we’ve tried to do it in ways that cause less distress, we give medicine through his bottle teat and it’s worked alot better. My mum used to give us it with our milk but not sure if it’s recommended now x

Our LG doesn’t like it too and we’ve found the only 2 ways that seem to work is sat up watching Miss Rachel etc or whilst sat in the bath!
