Increasing pelvic pain and Braxton hicks

I’m 23 weeks pregnant now. The past couple of days my pelvic pain has been getting increasingly worse. Even a belly band doesn’t help. I’ve also started having very constant and frequent Braxton hicks. I’ve talked to my OB about it. She says it’s normal. Just to try different things to give my belly more support. I was wondering if any of you guys have or are currently going through this? And if so, what did you guys do to help?

Hot showers helps me sometimes

Try something more hydrating than water like coconut water, pedialyte, Gatorade. And I can’t help with the pelvic pain if right there with you, it’s so intense and I’m only 23 weeks lol I’m so screwed

@Jalyn I have gestational diabetes and this is my 2nd time so my doctor is wary about me drinking anything besides water everyday. Apparently even the ones labeled sugar free have hidden sugar in them😭 I swear pelvic pain wasn’t this bad with my first. I can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like when I’m 30 weeks along

@Ela Ahhh makes sense! I know they have electrolyte packets too that should be just that and nothing else to help with water retention. Yeah I feel that. I’m with you man. with my second I was hurting pretty early but since this is my 3rd it’s like right off the rip. Plus I’m working which I wasn’t with my second. I was in SO much pain at the end of my pregnancy with my second and I had (I forget the medical term) too much amniotic fluid so I was HEAVY. It completely ruined my pelvic floor. Even feeling this baby move hurts 😅

Get an excercise ball!! I got one from Amazon (BabyGo, it comes with a book with exercises and more helpful info). Haven’t used it a whole lot yet (just got it) but I can tell it helps a lot.

@Jalyn I’ll have to ask my OB about it. She’s being extra cautious about my sugars because I have multiple family members with diabetes. I feel that!! Good luck to you girl!💕

@Natalia I didn’t think of that. I thought it might make it worse… I’ll have to try it. Ty!

It’s basically like prenatal yoga, but it helps tremendously with backpain, round ligament pain and pelvic! Wish I could send you a screenshot of a link. The ball was only $29 and it was here two days later.

is your pelvic pain also like a sharp crampy feeling inside your uterus but especially during standing and movement? i’m just behind you at nearly 22 weeks and i’ve been trying to figure out if it’s from gas pains or something else i should be worried about but man im uncomfortable lately

@Natalia Thank you so much!!🥰

@Anjie I’m having it all the time. Moving, sitting, laying, when my feet is up, etc. For gas pains I feel up higher up in the stomach. But with this my entire stomach hurts and it’s my pelvic bone/cervix. You could try taping up your belly, I’ve heard that helps others relieve pain while moving because it lifts up your belly a little bit.

@Ela sorry to ask. How strictly your diet became after you found out you have gestational diabetes? I took the 1-hr test recently and my result came a bit higher than normal.. although they still want me to take another test (the 2 or 3 hours test) to make sure if I really have it, I’m still a bit worried..

@Jacky this is my 2nd pregnancy and so this would be my 2nd time having gestational diabetes! My diet now is a lot stricter than it was with my first, my result also came back really high this time around. The biggest change is just having to remember to count your carbohydrates and you need to be eating 3 meals a day with snacks in between around the same time everyday. Because I was just eating whenever I could and whenever I wanted to. I was able to control my gestational diabetes with my first with only diet changes and no meds! We also met with a dietician that helped a lot figuring out what you can and can’t eat. Feel free to message me if you’d like😊

@Ela thank you so much! Really helpful ❤️

I’m in the same boat 🙃 always feel nothing helps 🥲

Omg I’m also getting Braxton hicks a lot more often than I expected. I think for me it’s definitely dehydration. Ask your doc about the LMNT electrolytes, there’s a salt only version that has no flavor at all so I’m pretty sure there’s no sugar or sugary substitutes.

Yes! Constant braxton hicks & lightening crotch/pelvic pains! I’ve been referred to physio for my pain & the braxton hicks are normal.. I didn’t get them til 35+ weeks with my first 2 but my midwife said it’s normal to have them this early (25 weeks) x

@Aaliyah good luck to you Mama!💕

@Jae🌝 I’m more worried/anxious about it because I went into preterm labor with my 1st and this is how it started for me. So I’m hoping that it just stays Braxton hicks🤞🏻

@Ela Hi!! If I’m not mistaken coconut water should be fine. Also those hidden added sugars in some stuff is usually the terrible stuff like sucralose, maltitol, aspartame and a couple others. Stevia, monk fruit, erythritol are good ones. On another note, this is my second and I’m having crazy groin pain along with sciatica (never went away after my first) and I’m here to say I feel your pain. I had bad pelvic pain the first time and as I get heavier now I’m like Oh Lord help me😭 Just try your best to be gentle when turning your over in bed. Try pelvic tilts while laying on your back too!
