Babies head keeps falling forward in car seat

Can you post a pic? Car seat is properly installed? Any after market additions to the seat?

Is her bottom right down at the buckle at the bottom? She could be positioned too high.

@Heather this is incredibly unsafe. OP, the Joie 360 doesn’t give a good fit for newborn. Even the seat says it’s from newborn, it doesn’t give a good fit until 4+ months. You need an infant carrier.

A good budget friendly infant seat that is often recommended is the maxi cosi cabriofix I size. Once baby is big enough to get a good fit you can then move into the joie ☺️

If it’s okay with your car seat’s brand, perhaps add a specially designed infant head support for better stability. Checking in with Joie’s customer service could also give you some specific tips or solutions for your car seat model. Hang in there, mama! ❤️

Those seats are not really suitable from birth - if you see joie’s literature it does reference it having to be a good fit (which is usually not possible). Can you get an infant carrier until baby is ready for the 360? There is a great Facebook group called extended rear facing (ERF) car seat safety who give loads of great advice

I personally would get an infant carrier and swap to this seat when baby is bigger. Please don’t buy anything like recommended above, anything added to the car seat is unsafe

@Heather please return this asap! This is so unsafe. Correct fit fixes a lot of things. This can kill your baby

@Heather anything added to the car seat like that is not safe. You especially do not want anything round your babies neck, especially in a car seat. It’s really sad that places sell things that aren’t safe/recommended because a lot of people don’t question it

@Georgie I didn’t see any bad reviews, but I’ll think on it. I’ve adjusted the buckles and straps already and nothing worked. I either ride in the back with her or I have a camera on her if I’m driving, so that gives me a little more peace of mind.

@Heather I shared a link to this group where a CPST can help. Unfortunately, those items do not pass federal safety testing because they literally don’t go through it. This includes fire safety testing. The IG link is also from a CPST. It can cause positional asphyxiation and cause baby’s head to move in a potentially fatal way in an accident. @Heather anything that immobilizes your infants head is a danger. It can be a suffocation risk, it can be a risk in a car accident. It is a big no to put anything in the car seat that is not a part of the car seat purchase itself. I never understand why they still have things like this for sale knowing that it’s not safe, but they do it anyway.
