I didn’t have a great experience at Bolton both on antenatal ward and postnatal ward. Delivery was brill but I was sent down far too late because of poor care on antenatal. I was induced and it may have been the correct decision but the way it was handled and the care wasn’t good. Also had an induction at Warrington and amazing can’t fault them
I’ve had two at Bolton and my experiences have both been positive. I was with the specialist mental health midwives for my anxiety which might have given me a slightly different experience. But I found the midwives on the day unit lovely and had a great midwife over night when I was in after having baby in June. X
@Kirsty specialist midwives are absolutely brilliant at Bolton.. if it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t have known have my options - who did you have? xx
I had my baby at Bolton and it wasn’t a good experience. I was due an elective c section but went into labour early and so they should’ve performed the c section as an emergency but they didn’t and pressured me into natural labour telling me I had no chance of having a section. After 48 hours of labour I ended up needing an emergency c section due to complications. Also baby was on NICU and the support there was rubbish for us as parents. Unfortunate because everything prior to labour was great!
@Paige first time it was Fran and Natalie. Second I was mostly with Rachel but saw lots of the others. Such a brilliant team they totally got me through! X
Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences it’s much appreciated ☺️
@Kirsty couldn’t agree more… I had Fran & Sue!! 🥰
Bolton was okay for antenatal appointments and scans etc. In my opinion it was hard work when in actual labour but is fine as long as you stand your ground in what you want or let your birthing partner advocate for you but aftercare was brilliant. It was only when I self-discharged that things started going a bit downhill. Heard not so good things about Wigan xx
