Leg smacking and head rocking

Hi all!! Has anyone else been awake basically all night 🙃😂 My little girl used to sleep amazingly, from 9/10 pm till 5am for milk then back till 7:30 ish. The past 2 nights she’s gone down a bit earlier which is great, around 8pm and is still only waking fully at 5am for milk HOWEVER she spends literally ALL of that time slamming her legs down or rocking her head back and forth! I am exhausted 🙃 anyone else’s little one doing the same and has anyone found a way to help them?! I know it’s meant to be self soothing for them but surely they’re using lots of energy for it?

Morning! We’ve had a similar night for the past two nights. Baby wakes up slamming his legs down and I think it’s for attention. He’s had a really good routine- 7pm bedtime - 12/1am feed then 6/7 wake up. However we’ve been a mess the last two nights

Mine shouts in his sleep! I think he’s awake but no he’s asleep.. it’s honestly so annoying!! If I could put him in his own room I would but I don’t have the room right now!

My LO slams his legs down too! It's so annoying 😂 but I'd rather that than screaming!!

@Sudhuf I’m really hoping it doesn’t last much longer! 😂 I can’t just ignore it when she’s doing it so no sleep for me 🙃

@Elena oh god haha 😂 my girl has just found her voice fully too so I’m imagining I’ll get that at some point as she doesn’t shut up during the day 😂

@Jessica this is very true! A lot quieter 😂

Yeah mine does it too. It does nothing too soothe him. Currently going through sleep regression and up every hour. Not fun and shattered.

@Haylee it’s awful isn’t it! I was thinking this is her sleep regression or do you think I’ve got worse to come? 🙃 she woke up fully at midnight last night but managed to get her to sleep on me then transferred her back but then the constant wiggling/ slamming/ head rocking continued 🙃 x

Great Toni if she just went back to sleep. No he did it before the sleep regression but not quite as much x

You've just got to ride it out it's not actually self soothing it's a sign they're learning a new skill. It does end I promise that my son did it for a month all night every night I learnt to sleep through it quickly and stopped waking to it

@YazmynJade oh is it?! What new skill was your little one learning? I hope I can manage to learn to sleep through it or I’m going to be a zombie 😂 x

@Toni you'll learn for sure! He was doing when he learnt to roll over completely front to back and back to front soon as he mastered it the slamming stopped

@YazmynJade well if I have no leg slamming tonight I know what the skill was! Bloody blowing raspberries 😂😂😂😂 she’s never done it before and has been non stop doing it all afternoon haha

@Toni that'll be it! It's one of the skills they learn it's a really important one so fingers crossed it stops the legs

I use Ear plugs, can still hear them cry, just dulls the noises they make that aren’t distress enough to sleep
