Baby Shower/Sprinkle ???
My due date is November 27.
I was thinking of having my baby sprinkle in October so we can have it outside in our backyard and so we can do it before the holiday’s start. I haven’t picked an exact date yet.
Would a 2 week notice be enough??
For my 1st we gave a one month notice for our baby shower and had multiple guests say they forgot even when we sent reminders as it got closer to it. So I ended up spending a lot of money for only a handful of people to come.
I also went into preterm labor with my first at 35 weeks (2 weeks before our baby shower) and now am at a higher risk on going into preterm labor again. So I just want to get it over with.
But there’s also a part of me that doesn’t even want to have a baby shower/sprinkle.
Last time, our family and friends just bought whatever they wanted even though we had a baby registry and so we had to go through a lot of trouble returning and exchanging things because we got a lot of duplicates. And a lot of it were also hand-me-downs from their kids about 20+ years ago🙃 and I was told by a pediatrician that those items aren’t safe to use anymore because plastic deteriorates overtime.
I don’t know what to do… Any advice would help

I’ve seen a trend for nesting parties now. Maybe invite a few of your closest friends and family over to deep clean, meal prep, and nest with you. Gifts optional but request gift cards for door dash or something similar. Might be less stressful
Im also was not going to have a baby showwer this time around but my sis convinced me to have a small sprinkle. We are doing at a park shelter so my little one and toher friends with kids cam have a playground to entertain themselves. Doing it early in the day from 1030 to 130 pm, and more like light snakcks brunch food, october is such a busy month for everyone so i wanted something early, and im asking for a lot of diapers, wipes, for baby and big sister
Have the kind of celebration you want- the snacks/treats you’ll want, and whatever low key decorations that make it feel like a welcoming celebration for your baby. I imagine you have a registry set up- send it along with your 2 week before notice, and whoever comes to celebrate with you comes. It sounds like you were disappointment last time because you tried to cater to everyone else and they didn’t meet your expectations, so make it a day that you enjoy. And maybe as a gift someone close to you can deal with any exchanges or returns 🤷🏻♀️ Have a special day and lower stress day 💐
