Most tattoo artists won’t do one because chance you can get an infection and pass it through milk x

I got one yesterday and it’s not even on the form if you are or not x

A lot of artists will refuse, just the same if you were pregnant. Your body is going through so much that it might take longer to heal, infection is more likely... so that would mess with your breastfeeding journey if you would have to end up on antibiotics. I say, just wait until you are finished breastfeeding. I've done it for 2 years. Was dying to get a tattoo and will hopefully book in soon as the artist is back from maternity leave x

I asked my friend who is a tattoo artist and she said most refuse due to high infection risk, plus for about 6 months after you have a baby it’s common for your pain tolerance to drops through the floor. I am 8 weeks post partum and have had 2 sit ins for a large thigh peice and oh my god the pain. I’ve got 16 tattoos and this was by far the most painful 😂🫠

I wouldn’t get one x I am currently breastfeeding, started a sleeve before I was pregnant. It’s very risky due to possibility to get an infection and having it passed on to the baby x You might not even get any signs of infection yourself, I wouldn’t risk it x

Wife of a tattooist here 🙋‍♀️ Partner owns a studio in Dundee and they wouldn't tattoo a breast feeding mum
