My daughter never crawled, first she just rolled whatever direction she wanted to go and then she was a bum scooter and was bloody fast at it too 😅 She was a 'late' walker but there's no stopping her now - I wouldn't worry x
That's more than my daughter did 😄 She went straight from sitting, to pulling herself up on furniture, cruising then walking.. and then only after she was able to walk she decided crawling was also fun. So many babies skip crawling that they don't even put it on the list at development checks nowadays
He may crawl and he may not, but nothing to worry about. My first army crawled for a long time, then crawled and then was a late walker but soon caught up physically then was ahead of her peers language-wise. They all develop their own way. I love all the different ways these babies get around, from the continuous rollers, the bum shufflers and the army crawlers 🥰
They don't all crawl! I wouldn't stress it at all
Army crawling is still crawling ❤️ Some babies do the normal crawl, some army, some bear crawl, some hermit crab crawl
My son went from army crawling and then stood up and walked one day!
Took a few months when he started rocking on his kneed and arms he'll get their in his own time x
Yes, he is almost there. Maybe he needs more strenght to lift his body. You could help him by getting him into a 4 point position on his knees and balancing his body so he see how it feels.
My daughter never crawled at all. She would rock on all fours but not move forward at all. She would also use her arms to pull the dead weight of her body along like a horror movie victim struggling along the floor lol but never crawled. Then she started standing and cruising along holding furniture, then started to walk independently. It was only *after* she was walking that she learnt to crawl.
I wouldn’t worry. My baby is 8 months and has only just learnt how to roll over. He does do actual push ups all the time and is very strong but that’s all for now. They all go at their own pace x
My son army crawled! It worked for him, and honestly, it's pretty cute. Then, one day, out of the blue, he just started crawling the traditional way. He's currently in the process of learning to walk. He can walk, he has walked but he prefers to walk and run around on his knees! It's very cute to watch, and he's super quick!! Babies will all do things their own way in their own time. Try not to stress about things too much. Just enjoy the baby madness!
My husband never crawled on all fours. Went from army crawling to walking. Became an athlete, didn’t impede his development… Keep giving him opportunities and he’ll get there
It’s always their own pace I wish there wasn’t as much pressure on babies or their mothers for them to progress
Rocking comes a couple weeks before crawling he’ll get there he’s very very close, rocking strengthens his arms and feet coordination. If you actually Google crawling it says 7-13m

Don’t measure your child’s success based off other kids. My son was 12 months before he crawled normally. He would use only his hands and grab things to pull himself to where he wanted to go. He also didn’t start walking until he was 16 months. Here’s a trick that might help the army crawl. Put him on the floor in just a diaper. Army crawling isn’t as easy without clothes. Helped my son stop just pulling himself everywhere. He couldn’t slide anymore.
@Rebecca that’s how my son started. It was so weird looking. But it made it cute cause he’d make a little noise that sounded like the noise old men make as they sit down. 🤣
Is he in socks a lot? If so, try leaving him barefoot more, that will help him grip his feet on the ground and come to all fours to start crawling
I wouldn’t worry! My doctor told me crawling isn’t a milestone anymore the milestone is if they get to where they want to go either by rolling, army crawling or crawling or walking. My son is 9.5 months and only army crawls he has successfully crawled a handful of times but goes back to army crawling I think it’s because it’s fast for him. He pulls himself up on things now so I suspect he will skip crawling all together.
I don’t think it matters really either way! My little boy started army crawling at 6 months then took his first steps at 10 months. Around 10 months he had a week or 2 of “normal” crawling before he was walking properly. But he was mostly an army crawler until walking! And he’s met all his milestones early so it hasn’t affected him at all!
My daughter never crawled. She bum shuffled. He's getting around his own way, I wouldn't worry
I wouldn’t worry at all while he’s getting about in his own way! My baby first crawled a few weeks ago at 10 months. Before that he didn’t army crawl or anything he was just getting frustrated leaning forward while sitting up. It took him ages to work it out. Some babies never crawl at all and skip straight to walking.
