TEETH GRINDING!!!

My daughter has a bottom tooth and a top tooth on the same side. They are both about a quarter of the way through the gumline and she insists on grinding the teeth together all day long!!!! The sound is AWFUL!!! Like nails on a chalkboard. Anyone have any ideas or similar problem? I give her tether crackers and teething sticks and anything else I can do to get her to stop.

I know it’s awfulllll but from experience they do stop! Just figuring out all their new things!

Omg same!!! My son has his 2 bottom teeth and his 2 top just finally poked through the gums and I can hear him scraping them together it’s awful!

@Megan it has been going on for so long now. And the more tooth that comes through the louder the sound gets. I don’t want her to hurt herself

@Savanna it’s the worst sounddddddd she only has one on top and bottom. So funny

OMG SAME ! my baby just started this too!

@Ariel my older son stopped after a couple months and most things I read at the time said it’s normal if they continue for awhile I think toddler timeframe it becomes more of a thing they’ll look into! He stopped and then when back molars came in around two he started chewing on his blankets to relieve pain at night 😩 thankfully that stopped after a bit too!

@Nevaeh oh no I’m glad I’m not alone but it’s just a horrid sound. I don’t know why they do it.

@Megan oh goodness. It went on for that long?? I can’t stand the sound and just feel like it would be damaging to there little teeth. And aww poor boy. I know I feel like all I do is give her frozen breast milk popsicles and Tylenol. Because it looks awfully painful

@Ariel unfortunately he did do it for awhile but it also wasn’t constant- if it’s something you are worried about you can always bring it up with your dr! My littles been doing it occasionally I feel like when he pops a new tooth I’ll notice it more for a few days and then it’ll calm. Distraction of toys etc helps he does take a pacifier as well which I think deters it as long as he’s focused on that

@Megan yeah we will see how long it lasts. And she doesn’t take a pacifier. Thanks for your honest input!

Of course! Good luck- this too shall pass!

My son has 8 teeth and he just started doing this!!!!

@Alexia 8 teeth!!!!! How old is he

@Ariel he will be 11 months on the 8th!

In the same boat here! 😫 the sound is awwwful

They sometimes do it to relieve teething pain. My son does it too but has 4 teeth on top and 4 on bottom. Ugh I can’t stand it when he does it

@Fallon it is ridiculous my pediatrician said that she may be trying to push her teeth through the gumline
