These are some of my little boys favourites. He’ll be 8 months in 5 days for ref: Breakfast - salmon and eggs, PB on toast, banana spinach and sweetcorn muffins, blueberry pancakes and yoghurt, potato egg and mushroom balls Lunch - sweet potato and pea frittata, super green vegetable frittata, chicken leek potato & cream cheese pastries, tomato, potato and basil balls served with chicken on the side, chicken potato and carrot balls Dinner - beef and courgette meatballs with a blended tomato with some herbs as sauce & pasta, egg fried rice (really easy to switch up ingredients in this - chicken, salmon, white fish, pork, beef), fish cakes, tomato and broccoli orzo, cream cheese risotto, chicken and vegetable nuggets, chicken, avo, PB & quinoa I make everything from fresh in big batches, then freeze everything into portions. Highly recommend the following books: how to wean your baby by Charlotte sterling-Reid. Wean in 15 by Joe wicks Ebook by “whatjodiedoes” (insta handle)
My little girl is 8 months old on Friday and has home made blueberry pancakes and some fruit or weetabix or porridge for breakfast maybe some toast but she isn’t a major fan and then lunch time she just has a snack and then dinner I feed her a pouch or jar of her food and she still has 4 6oz bottles a day too!! When I start upping the amount of food she had in a meal I will cut of out of her bottles probably her lunch time one or her breakfast bottle 🥰 x
Omg your babies all eat better than I do!!!
@Jamie same, i feel bad 😅 he turned 7m old a week ago, we just do lunch and afternoon meal still (all else is breastmilk), I just puree the extra veg/meat from our roasts that is unseasoned and give that + jars if I have nothing available, and for afternoon sometimes it's hard to find the time to even make his porridge/baby rice with mashing in the fruit while he's crying 🤣 I admire mums who find the time to do baby fruit pancakes and fresh cooked meals, my hat's off to you ladies 🫡😅
@Kalina and anyone else - please don’t ever feel bad about what you feed your baby. As long as they are full, clothed, warm and loved, you are smashing motherhood 🫶🏼🙌🏼 I like to eat fresh food which is why I cook it for bubba and I’ll make the time in the evening every few weeks to batch cook. We got this mummas, weaning isn’t easy!! Xx
Is anyone giving their LO baby porridge? I use a few but my LG always cries afterwards as she wants more, just wondered how much you were giving. I do 3 heaped spoonfuls. She is 7 months for ref
@Chloe Hill I do! He's a hungry boy so I don't 5/6 tablespoons and add his oat milk to the right consistency. If he doesn't eat it I'll stick it in the fridge for the next day but he usually does 😂
@Sophie ok fab, thank you. I’m always so worried about over feeding her so am cautious with how much I give her, I will try and up the amount again and see how she goes. She just loves the stuff 😂
@Chloe Hill no worries, I've always read that when they're full they turn their heads away and close their lips. Took me a while to find the amount that would fill my lo up 😂 honestly he loves it too, fully convinced he'd just eat porridge all day if i let him 😂
My lo will be 8 months in just over a week and we also started with purees but we're now on 3 solid meals a day and 2/3 bottles. He has porridge, weetabix or toast for breakfast with some fruit. Lunch time he has either some homemade fruit pancakes, something made with pastry or a sandwich with some melty puffs and a different fruit and then dinner time he'll have whatever we're eating if it's dairy free, yesterday we had vegetarian sausages, veg, mashed potato and gravy, he's also had fish fingers and chips, chilli (not spicy), pasta, chicken and rice, beef casserole etc. Always served with some vegetables. Then usually some melty puffs, a yogurt or some fruit afterwards :)
