@Starr we've got a few different ones and they don't seem to help, she just wants to eat it 😩🤣 she also doesn't seem to position her arms in the right place to hold herself up which I'm not sure if that's concerning?
My little girl wouldn’t position her arms so I used to position them for her and she’d end up flailing her arms again but one day she just stopped and holds herself up on tummy time. Not sure if me positioning her helped but might be worth a try x
Not here for advice but my boy who’s 21 weeks yesterday is exactly the same, I think every baby is just different. If your concerned contact your health visitor though but I know I’m not at this stage xx
My little boy is 6 months today and was born 5 weeks early, he has torticollis and a flat head on one side, he was really struggling to lift his head off the floor and couldn't turn his head to the left side. I spoke to the health visitor who carried out an assessment and referred us to physio, we got an appointment within 4 weeks. Hes now had two physio appointments and his head control has massively improved, they've given us appropriate exercises to do and he is sooo much better on his tummy. The physio told me babies who are premature or those who spend even 2 days in hospital (my little one was in for 2 weeks) are at massive risk of developmental delays with head/neck control. Definitely speak to your health visitor x
I saw a video that said if you put your hands (facing up) under their arms/elbows with their arms facing out the way they should be, they're less likely to put their head downwards. I tried it with my son and it seemed to work. You can only do it for short periods though as it's a bit of an odd position to be in for any length of time!
@Chloe out of interest did the physio say why babies who spent time in hospital were more likely to have developmental delays with head and neck control? My daughter was in NICU and gets grizzly doing tummy time. I just thought it was a preference thing but maybe she's actually struggling?
@Indy he said its because they spend more time laying on their backs/not being held. How old is your little one? My boy still doesn't like tummy time but definitely getting better x
@Chloe ah ok, she's just a misog then because NICU had her on her belly 🤣 she will be 20weeks this weekend, and actually I've found that if I put her on her tummy time cushion thing and do something in front of her (hang out washing, cooking, cleaning etc) she will lift her head to look and be much more interested. Otherwise she just eats the rug and whines lol x
Don't worry ❤️ my first hated it so we didn't do it, he turned 5 yesterday and is a wonderful, healthy little boy❤️ she'll get there❤️ they all do things in their own time xoxo
My little girl was the same, we got her a tummy time pillow. It’s the vtec fawn one from Smyths and she loves tummy time now x
