Choking/not breathing in sleep

My LO is 6 weeks old and the last 2 nights she has been choking in her sleep and last night it seemed as though she had stopped breathing for a second or so, I instinctively wake up as it’s happening and grab her out of the next to me and pat her on the back but this is really scaring me and I don’t want to sleep anymore!! I’ve read it could be sleep apnea? Does anyone else have experience of this with their LO??

Have you been checked for reflux? We had this and it got so bad we ended up with an ambulance and taken to A&E. He had severe reflux and choked resulting in not breathing for over a minute. We were prescribed medication for reflux, milk thickener and told to wean earlier (which did not help). He’s now nearly 7 months and we still have this from time to time at nighttime. It’s so scary when it does happen 😩

@Casey I told the GP last week that I think she has mild reflux. I’m EB and very occasionally she will projectile vomit, I say occasionally it’s only happened twice but she does drink so fast and then coughs and chokes and then gets hiccups a lot. She is sick sometimes after feeds but it’s more like she’s had too much milk and it’s coming back up, that’s why I thought it was mild? It’s so scary!!!!

It could be that only some milk is coming up into her throat and not going high enough that she is sick. It can also be linked to apnea. My little one can be sicky some days and then other days he’s completely fine. I’d get her checked over for peace of mind x
