Changing diaper during night

I breast feed my baby boy and during the night he wakes every 2/3 hours to feed. Doesn’t cry but get fussy and starts to make noises which is my cue to feed him. I’m curious, as per other threads I’ve read, people only change nappies when baby has pooed. My baby has almost always got a soiled nappy everytime I feed and he hates having a nappy change during the night. The soiled nappy doesn’t seem to bother him and I’ll be honest I’m half-asleep to always be changing in the night. As long as he is happy and fine, and no diaper rash, do I really need to change him in the night?

It might cause leaking, i change it everytime my boy wakes but I don’t use wipes during the night cause I find that’s what makes him cry, I just clean him off really well in the morning xx

I change her nappy every time she wakes up for a feed, just personal preference :)

I change at every feed but I do it really quickly. No wipes or anything. Just old one off and new one on. Then get on with the feed!
