I have a great experience the doctors and nurses reassured me throughout and answered all my questions - I had to stay for 48 hours so be prepared if you have to stay longer than overnight My baby is happy and healthy x
Mine was 5 years ago next month so can't give an overly recent account, but it was great. I was the first one of the morning, baby born 11am and was home 1pm next day. Aftercare was good and the people were great.
Hi I had elective 6 weeks ago and can not fault it … compared to my emergency it was so calm and the staff were amazing good luck and if want to chat please message x
Also make sure your partner has lots of food as the hospital won't feed them
I had an elective c-section at Broomfield 10 weeks ago. I was also extremely anxious about it but I have to say the care I received was excellent. The surgery went very smoothly and the midwives and doctors we dealt with both pre and post op were brilliant. We felt very reassured and like other commenters above we had baby at around 11am and were discharged within 24 hours and back home. One thing to flag is partners are only allowed between 6am and midnight so there are those 6 hours overnight when dad must go home and you’ll be alone which can be tough as you’ve just had surgery but don’t be afraid of pressing the button and asking for help with baby as much as you need it! This was different to my first experience - my daughter was born by c-section 7 years ago in London (whipps cross). I think overall Broomfield is better but at whipps my partner was allowed to stay all night with me which, in hindsight, was extremely helpful. You will be absolutely fine! Best of luck xx
Had a emergency there 3 years ago and an elective 3 months ago. Both absolutely fine, staff really kind and reassuring (although busy on post natal). Lovely that your birth partner can be with you the whole time (bar about 5 mins while they put the spinal in). Also can give the MCA your phone to take photos if you want and she did a fantastic job!
I had an elective C-section 4 months ago and it was a very positive experience. You have to get there pretty early, maximum of 3 booked each day. Theatre midwife does some pre ops, then you all got through to a waiting room on labour ward and you get called to put on a gown and go down to theatre. Good luck and enjoy the new born bubble when it arrives xxx
