If your babies unwell do you just scrap routine and let them sleep when they want ?

I've resorted to co sleeping and contact naps as my baby has been poorly. She's up every hour otherwise and won't transfer. She also wants my nipple constantly for comfort. Has anyone else had this? Bit worried she's never going to sleep more than 2 hours again.

I’m here at the moment. He’s had HFM, a viral infection and now a cold back to back and he’s been more needy through the night and now naps have become disrupted too. I’m telling myself it’s only temporary and he just needs me more

When they're poorly I do anything I can to give them some relief and comfort. It's not forever and it'll go back

We had this a few weeks ago, my boy had two bad colds and then HFM in quick succession. Luckily his morning naps and night times are kind of back on track now but for some reason the afternoon nap is still hard work and he either has to sleep on me or in the car. Think that might just be his fomo though in all honesty.

Yes I do give more sleep periods as they recover well then

Don't follow routine. They do need comfort and I have experienced that. That closeness and comfort with mom will heal all her sickness

I just think about when I'm sick, everything goes out of the window. I normally sleep more in the day but sleep poorly at night. Sometimes I want to eat loads but sometimes I'm off my food. Babies are the same, however frustrating that can be, so I try to go with the flow until they are better.

100%!

Our LO has been ill back to back recently and we just let her sleep as much as she needed to recover. It does mean that all routine is out the window and I have no idea what her normal routine is anymore but hopefully once these colds and viruses have passed, we'll get our rhyme back

Yup! When I visited the US, she got sick twice and had teeth come in! She slept however long she wanted, because rest helps with recovery. She was on me all r day long and night long.
