Breast feeding, work and Nursery

I’ve retuned back to work this week and I’m just wondering how much breast milk others are giving to nursery daily? My girls going to be in nursery from about 8am to 5pm and would usually have about 3/4 feeds in that time she’s also feeding about 3/4 times a night as well, turns 1 next week. Also if you’re pumping at work how are you finding it, are you able to keep up with demand for nursery bottles and are your work OK with you taking pumping breaks?

I go back to work at the end of the month and baby starts nursery in 2 weeks. I’m not going to send any milk with him and he usually feeds multiple times during the 10 hour period he will be there. At this age most babies are fine to have milk when reunited with you and have solids and water when apart. Of course if you want to pump you can but it’s not necessary at this age if you want to save yourself extra work. You may find they feed more overnight or during the evening to catch up. If you do pump you’ll need to consider where you’ll store the milk, how you’ll get it back from work at fridge temperature etc x

@Yasmin thanks 😊 are they giving your little one Cows Milk in nursery then? I must admit it would be nice to have her weaned off me during the day 😅

@Victoria no I don’t want him given cows milk (personal choice) so he’ll just have solids and water 😊 you can offer your little one cows milk if you’re wanting to though. I’m happy for him to feed on demand on my days off/ during the night but for me pumping isn’t practical at work and during an hour drive I have no way to keep the milk cold. Lucy Webber on instagram has lots of info on returning to work/ not needing to pump unless you want to x

I've sent her in with two 5oz bottles. She drank 1 of those yesterday (and heartbreakingly they tipped the other away!). Today she's drunk 2.5oz before her first nap. She usually feeds to sleep at home and doesn't swallow a huge amount of solid food yet.
