@Mikaela how do you make the pizzas? X
I buy pizza dough from the home baking aisle for the sake of easy, make it up like the instructions, and then a dash of pizza sauce (or red pesto sometimes, because I like that and so does she) and then you can put whatever on top. I usually do a bit of cheese (dairy-free here because she has CMPA) or tuna and sweetcorn!
We do pitta pizzas quite often (pitta bread topped with tomato puree, cheese and any veg topping you like) Tortellini to mix the pasta up has been popular & we normally have a freezer stash of pinwheels as a back up too x
Other options I’ve ordered for this week are bagel thins with Philadelphia, crumpets x
I tend to give my girl toast or little pancakes for lunch, or sometimes she'll have leftovers from dinner the night before. She doesn't like sandwiches yet 😒 I worry less about her getting a massive variety at lunchtime as long as I know she's getting a good healthy dinner x
Puff pastry anything is a good option! Pizza / other filling Pin wheels or just filling it and making a pasty type thing with it - I did this with the typical samosa filling and they’re lush for everyone 😋 x
Howeverrrr - we are mostly a butty or tuna pasta lunch family and this is okay for the majority of days TBH as long as tea is varied hahaha
@Ria thanks! With the pitta pizzas do you slice the pitta and use the inside bit if that makes sense? Also do they just go in the oven for a bit? What temp? Thanks x
@Amelia I think my little girl would prefer these sort of lunches to be honest. She does not eat much at all for lunch as she’s tired by that point too. Breakfast is a nightmare too. Dinner is the easiest for us 😂! Do you make the pancakes yourself? X
@Fay I feel like unless it’s something completely different that she doesn’t get to eat much she just gets bored of the usual meals 🙈🙈! Like brekkie I alternate between ready brek, weetabix, organix porridge, overnight oats and she is not interested and it’s a battle every morning. Give her toast though and she’ll demolish it! But obviously can’t do toast every single day 🤦🏻♀️😂 x
@Melissa yeah dinner is the easiest and always varied. Brekkie and lunches not so much 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️😂! Ooooh I’m going to give tuna pasta a go as well one day! She’s probably bored of cream cheese pasta lol x
@Fay yeah she will have toast if I gave it everyday 🤦🏻♀️😂 maybe I just need to give it more often so it’s not as difficult. Then she’ll get bored of that too haha x
I serve leftovers from thr night before as a main meal midday then do a lunch style light tea at 4.30. She doesn't like sandwiches, rarely eats toasties, stopped eating crumpets, and doesnt like egg or beans. Uve recently discovered she likes sausage rolls so ive bought some sausages and pastry to make my own. Pinwheels are hit and miss and she likes cheese spread on crackers. I do either sausage roll, pinwheel, toastie or cracker with a handful of crisps and some fruit and usually a yoghurt or some other form of dessert. She then has milk and supper at 6.30 ish so i dont worry if she doesnt eat much of the tea
No I just put all the toppings on top of the pitta (I don’t cut it open at all) then cut it into pizza strips once cooked. Yes either in the oven for 8ish minutes 180 but I do just keep checking it or 5-6 mins in the air fryer xx
My kid LOVES samosas and bhajis and will eat them happily a couple days a week. We also do beans sometimes which is getting less messy with her starting to use a spoon more. You could also do homemade little pizzas or puff pastry wheels with various fillings (these go down a storm in my house)
