Breaking routine to go out at night - how?

So I haven’t gone out at night since my baby was born because (1) dad can’t put baby to sleep - he says it’s an impossible task, (2) we don’t have any family/friends/babysitter to help, and (3) I’m so worried and anxious to just go out with baby and breaking his bedtime routine or going past his normal bedtime. Now I feel like I want to have dinner outside 😂 random I know, but I wanted to ask for your experiences & opinions…like how do you do it? Do you do all his normal routines like bath etc before going out? Should he dress in pyjamas? Do I prepare for a possible outburst and tantrums? Or should I just not go out with baby after his bedtime? Now that I’ve written this…kind of sounds dumb…but I’m gonna post it anyway 🫠 Love ya! xx

I had to work late at work the other day (until 11pm). It's the first time I've been out later than like 8pm. Her dad tried to put her to sleep but she still breastfeeds to sleep at night and she wasn't convinced it was bed time without it 😂 I got home at quarter past 11 and she was just happily playing and watching TV. It was so bizarre to see. Her dad was falling asleep on the sofa 😂 I put her to sleep with me like normal and then she slept longer the next morning to make up for it. Wasn't nearly as dramatic as I thought it was going to be!

We don't really take ours out for meals ect anymore because he won't sit still for more then 0.2 seconds. But if we do then we will always try book earlier in the evening, let him nap later so he's not overtired and go with the flow, usually ends in having to leave early as he gets restless but 1 day out of routine won't do any harm 😊. P.s you need a evening out, dad should work on the bedtime routine. We've transitioned to dad doing bedtime here from breastfeeding to sleep. Took a long time to do it and quite a bit of patience from dad and there are still evenings now where I have to go in and take over but it's possible!! Happy to talk you through how we got there, pop me a message xx
