I was induced at 38wks - Induction was better than I thought it would be - I'd heard plenty of horror stories. The worst part was the length- I went in on Wednesday morning and he didn't arrive until 23:30 on the Saturday. Had the foley balloon - didn't work. Then it took 3 pessaries before I was dilated enough for them to break my waters. Waters broke 1am Saturday. Went into it pretty tired which wasn't ideal. It was long - but the pitocin drip wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, managed on gas&air alone. In the end I did end up with a forceps delivery - his face was facing wrong direction it was impossible combined with how long I'd been pushing/tired I was. Was a bit gutted not to do it on my own after all that time. Even though I needed intervention I'd still call it positive experience. Would be happy to get induced again and overall was magical still- he arrived safe which was all I needed
I was induced at 39 weeks with GD. Mainly by choice though due to having severe HG. My induction experience was positive. I had no issues. It did take three days but I was in active labour for only 6 hours. I can't compare it to a "normal" delivery, because I haven't had one. But I would have an induction again if needed.
