Nursery

My little one is starting nursery and so confused at how they are making the formula. We usually do the nuby when they are out, but won’t do this. I was told put boiling water in his bottles and they’ll add the formula when they need it but the boiling water won’t stay hot in a bottle throughout the day so I’m not happy with that. I said I can bring a flask of boiling water and cooled boiled water to add but my LO has 8oz and feeds 2-3 times a day so I don’t think the cooled boiled water will be enough in a flask. What do you do?

Our nursery has a kettle, they boil the water and make the full bottle with boiling water then sit it in cold water/run under a cold tap to cool. This is also how we did it when she was in hospital as a newborn before we had a rapid cool x

Our nursery has a prep machine to make his bottles! that is a strange request for the formula!

I put boiled water in my little boys bottles and take his formula measured in dispensers. My little one has never been one for warm milk, he's always had room temperature. Nursery have said they'll do the bottles and formula if I want them to but my little routine is getting his bottles and formula ready in the morning for the day

@Sammi how does the water stay hot though til they make up his bottle?

@CeeCee it doesn't, but my little boy won't drink warmed milk, he's always drank it a room temp which my health visitor said was absolutely fine. They do have a bottle warmer which they've not used with Declan.

@Sammi its not for the temp of the milk once made, its meant to be boiling (above 70°) to kill the bacteria in the milk, thats what I mean

Thanks everyone, they didn’t boil the water but I have explained everything to them and they now realise it’s better that they do and they will be making with boiled water!! Xx
