I let her watch but she’s not really into tv. She gets excited when it comes on but then she’s off to get into something soon after.
Yes, I don’t want him being into it but he’s very smart and doesn’t really play around other kids much being that he’s home with me and his grandma. It’s also very hot here in Florida so outside play is limited for now!
Don’t feel bad ❤️
Girl don’t feel bad for a little screen time. I was strictly no screen when my baby was a few months but as he got more mobile I let him watch it some. I only let him watch educational programs though as a compromise to myself lol. He watches the “my baby can read” videos, learning Spanish for babies, Kunda and friends, Gracie’s corner, and his dad likes to watch Yo gabba gabba with him and he likes to dance and learn the nice behavior songs… my baby is very advanced and has learned a lot. However I do make sure he has plenty of non screen time. But as a single partnered mom, sometimes that screen that screen is needed so I had to find ways to cut the guilt and not abuse the screen.
Agreed!!
Some screen time is okay if you need it for sanity. Personally I try to do things while he naps. Or if I need the rest I can nap too. Or I do things while wearing him .... And just keep him active with toys and play and talking to him in naturally speaking .... Style of methods ( explaining what things are as I interact with them )
But there's definitely different ways to introduce children to words and communication
Girl…my son LOVES Ms Rachel!
Ah yes...the mom guilt.I haven't played my 18 mo cartoons until he was 15mo and then only 15-20 min top per day and sometimes we would go without it for a week. But his dad saw that as a quick fix when he is taking care of him and during our summer trip, my son started watching cartoons 2, 3 hours per day.Yesterday he had a meltdown because I wouldn't let him eat and watch, so I eventualy caved and let him watch his Finny the fish.I feel horrible and I don't know how to stop this.I think kids should watch their shows, but not for hours...
Screen time is needed in our house sometimes. We do miss Rachel but if the kids are really antsy we turn on Danny go! It’s much more interactive.
Tbh if I have to turn the TV all day for my LO I would. Somedays are tough and I be needing a me time or home reset day. Everytime I do that I feel guilty 💔 families offered to watchim or take him out places while I have a me time but I would rather have my baby stuck with me safely, at home with all his toys and tv. I remind myself Screen time is not bad, it’s there to help me also when I need my LO being distracted while I NEED to do something even if it’s just going to the bathroom.
I do that too at times with my 1 year old cause she gets bored but mainly I play it when she’s eating cause otherwise she won’t eat. Me and my husband always talked about not letting our kids get hooked on these things but kids nowadays are too smart!
