Low milk output

My baby is 6 weeks. I was breastfeeding and have been pumping. I now pump during the day and breastfeed at night. I was pumping 5 ounces on each boob every 4 hours. Since yesterday evening I haven’t been getting much. I only got 3 ounces on one and 2 on the other. Then this morning I only got 3 on each. And now only 2 ounces on each My first period has just started. Does this affect it? I’m panicking a bit

Periods do effect supply, a lot of people recommend taking magnesium or calcium too, although not 100% sure why but I’ve seen it spoken about a fair bit!

Periods can affect your milk supply, but once your cycle passes, your supply should bounce back. Just try to stay consistent with breastfeeding and pumping during that time. Since bottles can sometimes cause nipple confusion, many lactation consultants recommend using a feeding tube or dosing spoon, which you can easily find on Amazon. These alternatives help maintain the latch while supplementing, supporting your breastfeeding journey.
