We have calamine which we've used when the worst parts get a bit warm. But have been advised not to use it as it's very drying and can make it really itchy 🤦🏻‍♀️ we've been told to moisturise it which we have a good oat cream to use. But it's all around her nappy area as well. Thankfully she is back to herself more today! But just hoping this is at its worst now! She's got spots everywhere but the legs are the worst by far! Just never seen it like this before.
@Becky oh wow! That looks painful! My daughter actually had an eczema flare up with a viral rash before. But this is just horrendous. She has massive blisters on her legs now as well from it! We have an appointment again at 3.30. She's only 11 months old so not sure what they could give her x
Oh bless her! Just a prior warning her fingernails might fall off if her hands are badly affected
Maybe try oat baths and if you still have breast milk or are breast feeding put some of that in the bath and rub her gently with good quality natural oats xx
@Kirsty get some teething gel incase they pop up inside her mouth. My son got huge lesions on his tongue from HFAM and it was so painful for him :( teething gel provided some relief before bedtime and meals. But he didn’t really eat for 3 days due to the pain :/
I had it really bad recently. Caught it from my 4yr old step son and it really shocked me because I was so much worse. My spots were all over my bump, my knees, my feet, my bum, backs of my thighs and all over my groin and blisters on my hands. I spent 3 days in bed but resting was the best thing I could do. Sudocrem was the only thing that helped the itching on mine but I wouldn't recommend putting it on the actual blisters. I used it on the rash bits that hadn't blistered. Cold liquids helped my mouth and throat. Rest her for a while too as much as you can, I felt better and cleaned the house and it set me back and I felt worse again the next day!
Ouch, poor baby. Calomine lotion may ease the irritation from the blisters.
