He is 13 months old. He goes between one nap or 2 a day. Wakes around 7-9 am depending on what time he goes down. First nap he goes down either 11-12:30 depending on what time he wakes up. And then second nap like 4-5 ish I always wake him up by 6:15 but sometimes heāll skip it if he wakes up from his first nap later than 1:30. And then bed between 8:30-9:30 depending on if he took his last nap or not.
What do daytime naps and wake windows look like?
Iāve been kinda watching for like the sleepy cues. And theyāre usually around the same times everyday. Wake windows kinda vary a little bit. Heās usually sleepier in the morning/early afternoon. Usually not more than 4-5 hours after he wakes up heāll be wanting to take a nap. But sometimes heāll be ok after that and be awake for like 8 hours depending on how long the first nap is. Like heās woken up at 1:30 and then was ok up and around until bedtime
Even when he gets baths at night. Or skips that second nap. Heās still waking up multiple times at night š
@Kendra H sleepy cues are unreliable after 4 months unfortunately would you like him to fully be on a one nap schedule or do you still want two for now? I can give you a schedule to follow for either one heāll eventually go to one but he might still have room to wiggle on a two nap schedule
@Amani Iāll take a look at both and kinda see which looks like itāll work best for him? Appreciate it so much šš
What are you doing everytime he wakes up? Do you rush in, pick him up right away, give him a bottle/nurse?
@Kendra H following cus my babe is nearly the same with the sleep times and also waking up multiple times a night. He only seems to sleep more through the night when we have had an unusually active day. Which isnāt always possible. He is breasted. Iāve kinda tried night weening but he gets so upset I just canāt resist. I feel like I never really sleep anymore lol
@Morgan I respond immediately and try to keep him in his crib and give him some whole milk pat his back and lay him back down. But sometimes that doesnāt work so I have to pick him up check if he needs to be changed and I rock with him in a rocking chair until he falls back asleep but after so many times at night it starts to get time consuming and frustrating š so tiredddd
@Kendra H sometimes if we rush to them and immediately rock and give them milk they get used to it. Or they can become dependent on the night calories and be eating less in the daytime. Try waiting 2-3 minutes before going in to see if they self settle. And try and cut some night milk of slowly and wean them off and increase daytime food.
I think itās time to drop to 1 nap, my boy dropped to 1 nap at 1 year old and it really helped. He only needs about 10.5hours sleep in 24 hours. Perhaps add up how much actual sleep your boy gets in 24 hours then work on how you want to split that between naps and nighttime
@Kendra H it will take a few nights but eventually he will still more somewhere to make up for the dropped nap.
@Kendra H so for two naps the max schedule is 3/4/4 I would start with waking him up at the same time every day, if you want to meet at the middle at 8:00 hereās a two nap schedule (adjust based on wake time) Wake: 8:00 Nap: 12-1 Nap- 5-6 Bed 10 you can try this for 3-5 days & if it doesnāt work then youāll have to move to a one nap schedule Wake 8 Nap 1-4 Bed 830/9 Also, give him to self soothe donāt immediately rush in & work on cutting out those night time bottles
Does anyone know if like sleep sacks or like special bedtime lotion would help? And thanks for all the help! :)

@Kendra H Iām not able to speak on either since none Iāve never used either but I would assume if heās an active sleeper he might be upset if he canāt move around as freely as heās used to ( I could be 100% wrong though) multiple night wakings are usually due to a schedule thatās not age appropriate, teething and then also by assisting him to go to sleep heās looking for that every time he wakes to help him go back if you have any questions though my DMs are always open!
@Kendra H what temperature is his room at night usually? Asking because usually if it was under 68 in my littles room we would definitely do a lightweight sleep sack. And a heavier sleep sack in the winter with the room being about 67. But if you keep the room above 70 he might be too warm and waking. might be worth experimenting.
House ac is set to 76 but the nursery has a window ac unit set to 72 and the ceiling fan going
I use the huckleberry app with the sweet spot! You can say what time you want your mornings to start and when to go to bed and then after logging your sleep for a few days itāll tell you when your kids āsweet spotā is for naps and bed. 97% of the time itās been spot on and has helped!
Try to keep bedtime and wake time consistent. Even if it looks like they arenāt tried they are after 6 hours after a nap usually. Asleep between 7-8pm is for some reason this magic window that allows them to sleep longer stretches. Hope this helps
