My son started talking when he was 2yrs old lol but he was checked out when he was 18m and dr didn’t seem worried. Just a late talker. I wouldn’t be worried as all babies ease into it. Does she communicate in other ways to you? Like pointing, looking if you’re showing something, listening, babbling otherwise ?
My son started talking from around 12 months tbh. A few sentences here and there and pretty much understood everything we said. He was fully talking from about 16 months tbh but i know hes not the norm. I think what helped was talking to my son as if hes just an adult, giving him time to respond and asking lots of questions. Ive always treated him like a big boy really which probs is why he walked early and talked early. I never went thru a gentle baby phase with him😂
@Neha she isn’t pointing, but she does listen and is babbling I guess
@Marcelle every child hits "milestones" at different ages. But as long as she understands you and attempts to communicate, even if words arent properly pronounced, id say shes on the right track. A lot of kids arent talking until 2 so 14 months still gives her a lot of time to catch up 😊keep reading to her, singing with her and most importantly speak to her as if shes an adult. Its so easy to not really engage in convo especially when they dont speak back. But tm just talking and giving opportunities for a response is practice in itself. Be patient and she'll get it one day x😊
My little one didn't speak much even at one year old he would only say mom or dad, if you have any concerns I would bring them up at your next doc appointment. We are in Speech Therapy and it helps alot, if little one doesn't like to speak often I suggest speech it will help all and any ages 😊
