Start with things that dissolve easy. We got the little puff stars to start. It just teaches them to have something in their mouth and to move it around like chewing. My baby spit them out at first because it's new.. just keep offering until they get the hang of it. We do eggs and sometimes mashed veggies we're having, cookies like Nilla wafers. Mostly just practicing adding new textures and learning to pick up tiny pieces and get it into their mouth.
I would recommend downloading the Solid Starts app, it shows how to prepare different foods based on the babies age!
I also recommend solid starts app. I started with whole milk yogurt, mashed avocado + banana, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, steamed and blended up apples( applesauce), peaches, pears, blended carrot+ sweet potato, small pieces of chicken and ground beef, pasta. Now I just give my baby small pieces of things and she try’s to chew ha! Trust your baby, it’s new but they certainly learn quick. Eat with your baby so they can follow what you do!

We did soft textures like really mashed eggs or you can try mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, finely cut pastas, mashed banana, rice. Just small soft things at first and then you can basically just up the sizes from there like overtime cut up pasta less of don't mash the banana and much same with eggs. There's an app I believe called solid starts that's I've seen recommended tons of times that teaches you how to prepare foods for their age
